He should vet his agent better then. But, we shouldn't be the nice guy here, whatever the rules are... then roll with those. We can't be seen as weak in this regard.

I understand this sentiment, but I'm not sure if I would want a potential culture killer in the locker room.  If Beebe can get onboard and reaffirms his commitment, great I think he will thrive in CMS's offense...if not, CCC and crew will need to find an amicable solution.

They can kick him off.

Wouldn’t they still have to pay him?

It’s worth it for staff to work toward a resolution where he can learn accept his actions and make the best of it. Better than letting his NIL deal burn a hole in our wallet if they kick him off.

Maybe. I really don't know.

I don't think we're at the guaranteed contracts stage yet. The hang up is this new NCAA NLI/non-NLI paperwork, but shouldn't have anything to do with NIL.

We very much need new abbreviations.

I'm all for IU letting him go then the NCAA making him sit a year (which it sounds like they would do from the article). That way IU doesn't look like the a$$hole and they don't have to deal with a disgruntled player that doesn't want to be there.

Ehh don’t really care. Unless he’s going to a team on our schedule

Branson Combs...2nd team All-ACC LB, went to Reitz, transfer from So. Illinois. Another weird case where he may have another year to play, but I don't think so on the surface. One if any.

Demond Claiborne...3rd team All-ACC RB, from Virginia, held a JMU offer coming out. 1,000 yard rusher this season. One year remaining. This is the guy to steal, and I'm sure he knows Justice well.

Combs went to Reitz Memorial-- so Memorial. I have no idea why Evansville has two schools with Reitz in their name lol

Branson was a STUD in HS.

Memorial sits on land donated by Francis Joseph Reitz.  He was a big wig in Evansville back in the day.  He pumped money into both the public and private schools along with what today is University of Evansville.

I'm not sure about Combs' eligibility either. I'm assuming other 812 Memorial folk on here might be able to provide some input on his status. He and his brother wrecked havoc in the SIAC down here in my neck of the woods. Completely took over games.

Combs is out of eligibility.

At SIU: Redshirted, COVID year (played), then 3 years of double digit games played.

https://siusalukis.com/sports/football/roster/branson-combs/7870

At WF: 1 season - Double digit games played

He's done.

Any rumors on Moten? Or just thoughts in general?

He’s pretty highly rated in the portal and had 5 picks, but looks like he didn’t even make Honorable Mention for All-Conference C-USA.

Regardless, he’s one of the guys at the top of my list. The idea of having him and Ponds at corner gets me amped.
