I don’t hate it. I actually get nervous when I see something like Oats shot chart that is so dogmatic it seems if they eschew even good (ie wide open) shots from the midrange.

I like most of the shot selection in the USI and Bradley games (in that order) with only a few shots that I'd consider bad. Not so much the Belmont game which had lots of long 2s. Unsurprisingly, it was also the worst shooting percentage of the 3.

Tony just posted this.  30 minutes

My takeaway is McCollum's offense can work at any level of basketball, but as others said it requires quick processing, good decision making, and unselfishness.  Those are skills like any other that can be developed, and his success indicates he's good at teaching them.  I also think his offense has the potential to attract high level players as the ball screen motion offense he is running develops skills that are really coveted in the NBA now - good decision making and proficiency at finishing both inside and from behind the arc.

If somehow Scott Dolson is sitting in a position where it's an impulsive BM for the first time in his life, that thinks IU and its money is too good to pass up, or a guy that may very well be a late bloomer and let's not forget our catch phrase "with our resources." I hope he picks McCollum. I don't know anyone that feels differently.

He's going to end up at Iowa and we're going to hate this guy.

This is possibly very true. But Fran got a lot of good players and had a lot of good teams too. McCollum will have his work cut out to even get to Fran level with Iowas resources. They won’t be Minnesota but Iowa will keep ticking along being formidable.
