I think we are shopping in the $0.00 basket for our last few additions. I’d find it hard to believe they will all of the sudden pony up cash unless this week during practices they have their minds changed. It’s fun though to hold onto to hope the roster might be improved with a final piece. So here’s to hoping. Edited June 2 by WayneFleekHoosier Quote
ronzo4IU Posted June 2 Posted June 2 As it stands, with excellent coaching and luck with injuries I think we can be a good team - one more added quality Big depth piece (4/5 combo) and I'd say we could be in with the cream of the crop. Stuhoo and Hardwood83 2 Quote
Demo Posted Sunday at 01:56 AM Posted Sunday at 01:56 AM S’pose this thread needs to be revved back up for a minute. His junior and senior year stats are almost identical. Basically a 12/5 guy on average shooting splits playing in the SWAC. Kind of doubt this is a thing. Quote

Jeff Flabjohns Posted Sunday at 07:28 PM Posted Sunday at 07:28 PM What are the chances he’s later deemed ineligible? Quote

Assuming this injunction is upheld this is the perfect use of the 13th scholarship. I'll admit I was starting to panic seeing a spot unused and the slim depth chart with our bigs, but assuming they had this plan all along I will happily eat crow on my critique for Coach DeVries. ronzo4IU, Demo, skhoosier2 and 3 others 5 1 Quote

Close to 0%, with the caveat that any legislation that passes between now and then could, but is unlikely to affect, things. How these things have went in the past few years is that an injunction is entered. The kids play before the next or final hearing. The issue becomes moot (ie kid has already played an entire season before a final decision is rendered) and the NCAA quietly gives up on the suit. Life goes on. Also remember that likelihood of “success on the merits,” or winning the underlying substantive argument, is a condition of granting an injunction like this. So when you see one, the court is tipping its hand a little as to how they view the case. In other words, everyone now knows the NCAA is behind the 8-ball. With that said, there’s nothing stopping the ncaa from following through with the case, eventually appealing, subsequently winning, and declaring the player ineligible (and thus vacating your wins). But so far the NCAA has shown neither the foresight or fight to do so. I really doubt they press their luck on this issue (again, absent legislation that somehow emboldens them). Soulsnipes 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted Sunday at 08:17 PM Posted Sunday at 08:17 PM Keyshawn Hall now linked to Kentucky. After a fully embarrassing offseason, the final product on paper could look extremely talented. Pieces would need to gel but 2 guards that get to the rim. 2 wing shooters both at the top levels. And a Center that projects as a NBA guy with skills. Size and athleticism too. Crazy how much things can change with the final 2 additions being top tier talents. (Assuming Hall, which isn’t a given) Stuhoo 1 Quote

A 9/6 guy in the B1G on good efficiency able to guard 4/5, is gonna be fine playing in rotation, already knows your schemes and is a really good teammate and the only price you pay is the occasional “Sam, NO!” 3 ball? You were never doing better than that. I am totally in. Greatly minimizes the threat of having to play some really dicey lineups. Quote
Demo Posted Sunday at 09:16 PM Posted Sunday at 09:16 PM I still find it almost impossible to believe this is a thing, but as long as it’s out there….. Petty hard to see how LSU with basically unlimited shots and a boatload of unspent money isn’t how this ends. Quote
