Sounds like Trilly just made a Reed Bailey prediction for IU

Good things come to those who wait. In this case? The good things might be a 6’11 kid with a great perimeter game and 3.8 assists per. That’s a crazy number and indicates he can put the ball on the floor.

Yes not trying to take credit for his prediction Bailey news was all him:)

When looking to these transfers from mid majors I always look at what they do vs. high major programs. He played 2 this year:

Gonzaga - he had 9 pts 4 rebounds 2 assists - 24 minutes played

Arizona - he had 19 pts 5 rebounds 3 assists - 29 minutes played

Do you think he would play the 4 or 5 position? If 4, would he back up Tucker Devries?

Bailey could be our Danny Wolf. Would be thrilled with that pickup.

Yeah would say he’s a skilled 4 big enough to play some spot 5 — interesting fit, given the rim protection #s. Think you probably still roster two 5s with Bailey, DeVries, Sisley, and Goode.

He’s a 5. But he can play 4.  Weak on defense.  Crafty and skilled on offense but not a post up type of guy.  DeVries is gonna have his work cut out for him on defense.

This alone doesn’t kill the Bindunga thoughts, but it kinda does.  Both will want to play a lot of minutes.

Our offense is going to be so much prettier. If we can defend anyone, that’ll be the question.  Got a bit of ‘25 Iowa feel about things.

The hybrid and developing young kids is great - just becoming so much harder to keep kids if they don’t see the floor until their junior year.   Hopefully that’s the long-term model for IU.

Yeah, I want to see consistency and chemistry with the development of younger players, growing the program with them, while adding strong vet players with team fit. I think that’s what we’re going to see with DeVries

With West Virginia being 15th in defensive efficiency last year despite lacking any real kind of shot blocker (Hansberry played the most minutes at center and he blocked 12 shots all year), I'm confident that DeVries will be able to coach the players he has into playing solid defense.

Dayammm. There’s a coaches saying that you can teach a bad defender how to play defense, but you can’t teach a bad shooter how to shoot

I’ve been thinking about Pack since it trickled out that IU had made contact — I actually really like the fit assuming there are some pieces put around the roster we haven’t seen yet: bigger, dogged perimeter defender, and rim protecting center.

Being able to stagger minutes w/DeVries, and theoretically Bailey and Pack should give your offense a really high floor for shot quality and TO avoidance

I understand he has had good defenses. But personnel matters. As it stands now we are a bad defensive personnel team. The good thing is we won’t have Woody confusing the **** out of them and they can play defense. We have a negative defender at every position so far. Gonna be a real humdinger.
