Austin, TX is pretty great...expensive, but great.

I love Austin, but I think Louisville is very nice town too. But don't know anything about the school. But I was there this past fall and thought there was a lot to do. Bloomington is a college town. Austin and Louisville are not. But honestly, I think any 20 something year old would have a good time at any of those places. That being said, if that's what mattered nobody would go to PU or ILL.

Austin has walkable neighborhoods. Great city. Fun place with lots to do. Travel through town is tough. Unstructured not in place for how quickly it has grown.

Have lived in all 3, all were great for various reasons. Louisville was my favorite, but mainly due to the food scene, bars, bourbon and horse racing. Rainey St in Austin used to be awesome, but that area's gotten dangerous nowadays. Bloomington the best true college scene of the 3 by far. Living in any of these 3 cities/towns as a 20-something millionaire would be great lol

I saw where UM first commitment last year was in the middle of April. May pretty much had to fill  his whole roster as well

...yeah, and look how well that all worked out for him. I'd say he totally passed the test!

walkable neighborhoods...

I mean like... if I really wanted to walk from Memorial Stadium, drunk (as a college kid), to.... Kilroys. I could do that. Not really an issue, it's "walkable"

Austin resemble that at all?

I honestly think we are good, DDV has had enough time to look at players, I'm sure less than he has wanted, but I respect his overall decisions. Think we will have a great overall TEAM!

He already had his database of possibilities that he was preparing for next year.  It's just a matter of closing the deals while doing all that is required to clean up the mess he was given.

One million percent yes. The University of Texas is smack dab in the middle of downtown, surrounded by all of the cool, funky, pretty stuff, and the Colorado River-front is within walkability too.

If we're in a safe, walkable, interesting campus area contest, Bloomington is nice, but Austin is a clear winner.

But we're not, and Indy is home for Conwell.

This is true. If the money is similar, I'm much more worried about Austin than L'ville.

It's a really great town. And this is a good time of year to visit. It gets deathly hot in the summer, but should be really pleasant in early April.

Too many to name, but the hub, taj, galaxie, saints, oshea's (all 3 of them), gerstles, tin roof, fox den, flanagans, garage bar, molly malones, west sixth, and several more right next to the Yum center like troll pub, merle's, barrel bar, etc. also higher end cocktail bars like Neat, last refuge, nada nada, hell or high water, north of bourbon, copper & kings, hotel genevieve, gerties.

Didn't know much about Louisville before moving there but i was impressed with their food/bar options

I realize a total rebuild for IU is going to require fans with patience and reasonable expectations.  Still, the anxiety of having no confirmed assistant coaches and/or players is incredible.  Please . . . give us something . . . anything.  LOL
I may be in the minority but I have zero patience and expect results immediately. There is no time for no dang rebuild. The administration has imo made this worse by waiting a year to long. Other schools have had success year one with a new coach and team. I don't care if he gets a group of 5 stars or had to get walkons to step in. We better be winning right now!

For sure. I don't really think it's that great of a college town, solid places to drink and eat, though.

Grew up there.  It isn’t safe.  Never has been and never will be!  Period!
