I'm up to date on all of the vaccines.  Heading to San Diego in March to visit eldest daughter and her hubby living next to Balboa Park.  Wineries, breweries, walks along waterfront, restaurants, walkabouts, old missions, getting on the water, live music, fire ring on backyard with canyon view, Safari Zoo visit, maybe ultralight off a cliff.  Yeehaaw!!  Palm Springs, Joshua Tree NP, Lake Havasu, Vegas.  Got approved for secured line of credit to pay cash at 7% and no closing fees for downsized house, I kid you not. Gave to blood drive.  Gave to charity drilling and obtaining water for those over there that have to carry water to their village. Getting the best ever hearing aids partially paid for by insurance.  Listen to the music...and friends talking in bars for a change.

And best of all...if IU wins the rest of their games, then we hang another NC Banner in SSAH!

I keep hearing that the staff has much better connections to guards this time. Not sure what that means but hopefully it is a good thing.

Does MM stick around though? I mean if he does, a couple of quick portal guards to go with MM, Liam and Reneau is not bad.

Us Alaskans made it through a very tough early February with temperatures hovering around -40 and sometimes -50. the temps broke last week and now we are fixing things that got broke. Another winter down and now looking forward to Summer (still about 4 months away). WOOHOO!!!!

Hey! Those temperatures are negative, not positive! Only positives allowed.

I'm positive that is cold.

Fun fact: 40 below zero (did it without the negative lol) is the point at which Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same.

My very early years - up to 6 years old - were in Concord, NH -- I still remember -40, and jumping off our 2nd floor back porch to slide down the 2-story snow bank to the bus stop -- to GO to school.

Moved to Bloomington just before I turned 7. First winter day there was a slight dusting of snow. I stood out waiting for the Bus. No one came. Monroe County Schools closed Due to Snow. Lol

I grew up in Monroe County and only got snow days when there was a decent amount of snow on the ground or when we. Not anywhere near what you describe from NH, but certainly more than a dusting. I wonder if there was significantly more snow expected that day.

I spent a winter in Augustus, GA. The whole place shut down when there was very little snow. You could still see most of the ground and roads underneath. Wind would clear off the roads. Basically, what I would describe as a slight dusting. It was crazy, I couldn't believe that was enough to shut everything down.

I’m probably older than you (50s) - Btown didn’t upgrade its snowplows and crews until the Blizzard of 77-78 that shut down the whole town for 3 weeks, even closed IU for weeks - and that was a blast for a middle schooler lol

Yeah, I was born in '77 so didn't start school until the '80s.

Living in AZ, I got sent home from work early once because of expected rain.

That was such a blast. I still remember walking to the neighborhood 7-11 in waist high snow, dragging myself the last 100 feet or snow — to get some snacks lol

I was a student during that blizzard. Campus was heated by coal at the time and the fear was that they would run out. Spring Break became 3 weeks to keep the heating bill down. In my program someone went to California and decided not to come back.

 Lived in a second floor apartment. The drifts were so high that we could jump off our balcony right into the snow. Groceries, and more importantly beer, were at a premium.

To make up the missed class work, Saturday morning classes were held. Made going to the bars on Friday night a little more of a challenge

Beautiful morning, saw a ton of deer and wild turkeys on the way in. Looking forward to watching the game tonight w/ an awesome dinner.

Just returned from another overseas trip last week. It still amazes me that for all our differences in the world humans across the globe are pretty much the same. Sitting down for dinner and drinks with complete strangers to find out you wish for similar things for mankind is a great pleasure. Meeting people who have made it out of poverty and made it their life mission to lend a hand to pull others up is heartwarming.
