Does MM stick around though? I mean if he does, a couple of quick portal guards to go with MM, Liam and Reneau is not bad.
  2. Completely agree with you. And it’s why I want Dusty to be the next HC. I think he will have enough appreciation for the past but also be the guy to bring a more modern approach to the program in multiple ways.
  3. Of course It means a lot! IU is one of the truly historic programs in the country and we have the best fans. It is because of our history that we have such great fans, NIL, and national spotlight and that DOES matter to recruits. But they don’t care that we won a lot 40 years ago.
  4. Hate to say it but no 18 year old on the planet cares about a banner from 1987. You want a more modern approach, part of that is accepting that those days are gone. Kids want their names on the jerseys. They will like the alternate jerseys and you’ll see it all over social media. Even Liam has already retweeted a picture of them. Does it suck? It does. But it’s just reality.
  5. As far as pure basketball coaching goes, I’d put Chris Beard up against anyone in the country. He’d be a great fit at IU too with his style of play. I just can’t see IU hiring him with his past.

This I agree with 100%. It’s ugly for sure. A dynamic point guard and probably another shooter and this would look a lot different. We don’t have that right now and ultimately that is on Woody at the end of the day. But it’s something that COULD be fixed this offseason. We will see.

    General Coach Candidate News

Yeah but to be completely fair there wasn’t video replay back then, and it was much harder to get a technical than it is today. Thats like saying the 85 Bears never committed a roughing the passer penalty.

    Candidate Thread: Mike Woodson

He played in 7 games that year. I kinda doubt 10 year olds at the time were watching those Heat teams thinking much about Juwan Howard. It isn’t that I think Woodson is a can’t miss home run. I would prefer many names before him but the more I think about it I think it could work. A big gamble for sure tho which makes me nervous.

It doesn’t necessarily mean HE could to the same degree, but look at how Howard is recruiting and landing transfers at Michigan. Howard hadn’t been a head coach and spent a handful of years as an assistant in the league. It isn’t like the kids nowadays remember watching juwan Howard play for the fab 5. But Woody, for whatever he would become as the HC at IU, would have instant results as a recruiter IMO.
  11. Every team is in Indy already.
  12. My question is if there’s actually an announcement tomorrow, what would they be meeting about again today if it’s a done deal ready to be announced? And who was in the meeting?
  13. Hey first time poster here been scanning this forum the last few days. Decided I’d sign up when I had an opportunity to contribute. I work at Indy International airport and while I can’t say for sure who was on board, the colts jet landed here about an hour ago and with the timeline of that picture, it seems pretty obvious it was Wentz. As FightFor6 said, those jets are specific for the Colts and there would be no way to confuse them with a plane carrying Brad Stevens. Wouldn’t get too caught up in flight tracking in general. As someone who works very closely with flights each and every day, unless you ask every single pilot who’s on board or Brad Stevens tells you himself he’s on this plane you’ll never know for sure. Come on home Brad!!!
