Duke fans threw water bottles at UNC players. Duke also has the top recruiting class in the nation. Including two players in the top 5.  It's easy to get a top flight coach to IU. The reality is a top flight coach looks at the athletic administration  and realizes other places have a way better environment.

The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

So, if I’m understanding your point, IU fans are why we can’t recruit? Not the shitty basketball we play? And your logic is, IU has been terrible at picking coaches, so instead of finally going after a proven, winning coach, we keep Woodson because they might mess up again?

Fans of elite programs laugh at IU fans for accepting bad results. It’s why IU is a bottom tier sports program.

Woodson sucks, the roster construction sucks.  We have a good team, good kids...love Galloway.  Ware and reneau are great.  Personally I like X.  I just think woodson is so terrible, you could give him John wall and Zion Williamson and he'd still have a offense not capable of winning.  Talent isn't the issue here.

Because even tho we suck Right now with a crappy coach, we are still Indiana.  A sleeping giant just waiting to wake up. That's why a coach would come here if dolson would make the movie.  Throw money at a top 10 coach and just end this crap with sleepy woody.

BTN announcers just said that OSU doesn't have any bad loses except for the home lose to IU. I mean, they're right, but it hurts to hear. It was the last straw that got Holtmann fired.

They also said that it was a Quad 3 or 4 lose. Quad 3? Yes. Quad 4? Not even close. IU is not good this year but they're nowhere near Quad 4 bad.

Sampson fired himself.  All he had to do was not cheat.  Sampson was caught cheating at Oklahoma and promised IU that it wouldn't happen again.  The NCAA handed down 5-year show cause penalty to Sampson, so it was a big deal.  There is no doubt that Sampson could have been a great coach here.  He chose to throw that opportunity away.  Don't blame the university for expecting their coaches to play by the rules. I would be embarrassed if we didn't have high standards.

And he hasn't bothered recruiting for 2024-25 or beyond. He's counting on the Simons' and Cook's money for NIL in the portal. Apparently these time consuming relationships with HS kids and recruiting trips cuts into his golf, wine and cigar time.

Wasn't Gojko the guy that sued IU over the Bob Knight firing?  Something about IU violating the open-door meeting law. He led a contingent of IU fans that became Texas Tech fans.  I could be wrong.

So are you actually blaming "toxic" fans for Woodson's inability or lack of interest in recruiting? I have NO problem booing a coach who gets $4+M/year and underperforms and blows off recruiting. He deserves that and more.

As far as not getting a tier 1 coach? Look at the administration and the BoT for your answers to that one. BTW, I inferred from your comment that you agree that Woodson is not a tier 1 coach. We all know have know that from Woodson's year one.
