Fire Coach Woodson Thread

I also saw Woody and Buckner play in person (while at IU) so I compartmentalize their playing and administrative careers into two separate buckets. Both were great players (Woody had a really sweet bank shot), and I still view them that way, but on the other hand both are absolutely terrible in their current roles.

I understand why younger posters, who never saw them play, don’t see it that way.

Kind of how I view Michael Jordan…stupendous player but a horrible owner/administrator. Doesn’t diminish my opinion of him as a player.

Kind of the same thing with Wittman and Zeke. Great players, not good coaches.

Sadly, it’s usually the last thing that they do that leaves the lasting impression. Loved watching them all play, but that was 30-40 years ago.

Kids today have no clue about their playing days… ya gotta know when to walk away.

I mean that's fine but the more wins the more likely quinn keeps him. His fan boys are out in full force. And more win and they will probably be talking extension and getting the cooks to pony up again

Furthermore, Q1, sure... but OSU, Nebraska, and Iowa aren't going to end up T30...

Nebraska, Iowa and OSU  was road games so Q1 up to 75 and it’s still a Q1 game.    Definitely disappointing that’s where we are discussing them but for a bubble team their NET right now would be good enough for the bottom of the bubble.   B1G has too many opportunities since they did so well early that basically every game they win moving forward will be a solid resume win.   If IU got to 11-9 they would be a lock to make the tourney just based on what the committee has done in the past.   IU would be compared to teams like Dayton, Pittsburgh, TCU, New Mexico which if they get to 10-10 in the B1G with no Q3 losses will look good.  Again not where this team should be or what I would want but I would be very confident that they would be on the right side of the bubble with a 10-10 record.   If and this is a big if they swept Purdue, beat Michigan at home and add 2 other wins they would be locked in at 10-10

For me (and I am old enough to remember them all as players here), the difference is that Wittman and Zeke weren’t bad coaches here at IU.  I do think Woodson has tarnished his overall IU legacy a bit, and that’s why I think talking him into a resignation before things get worse can only help him.

I swear, I think some of you are secretly hoping he'll get a 5th year just so you can keep up your moaning and groaning and woe is us.  HE'S GONE!   I still think it happens before our next home game but if it doesn't, definitely after we've played our last game of the season.

Never ever underestimate the gross incompetence of the Indiana University administration.

My dad and I were just talking about this yesterday that you can be a good player and not be a good coach as we have seen.

That honestly happens more often than not. Rarely do good players succeed at the coaching side when they switch.

Where are you seeing this and also I just think some of you are so gullible to actually think all of these talks has been taking place in the first place

Tyme erased his history on X. Lol. What a fraud. I’d love to know who was behind that account. Most certainly an insider and most certainly a Woodson apologist.

Yea, it sure seems like some people in the program have been putting out this narrative the last year or so to anyone who will listen: Woody is good and it's everyone else's fault, notably the fans.

Hopefully the new coach/staff gets rid of whoever is spreading the aforementioned narrative that produces the Tymes, SDBs, and other similar posters around the boards.  Anyone inside the program thinking this way doesn't understand leadership/accountability and is toxic.

Nope but those of you who say he is gone base this on what? Have you talked to quinn?? Ferguson? Dolson? Simons? Cooks? Who told you he is gone? Sources please. Name them.
