Good news is tonight is not a MUST win game. However I do feel it is a important game to try to start looking like a ncaa tournament team and a team who has aspirations of top 5 big 10 finish. Let's hope for the best. Grab a few rebounds and let's see what happens!

One interesting thing from Kenpom is that Rutgers and IU are 90th and 91st in his rankings. With Rutgers being at home, his system says they should beat us by a couple.  But…

We’re 5th in his “luck” ratings and they are closer to the bottom third of teams at 249. In other words, we have really outperformed his system in the expected wins dept, and Rutgers has underperformed. I think we take a close here.

These are the type of games you point at at the end of the season as either something that propelled you to where you wanted to go or "if we had just won that game things would have been different"

Rebound well. Limit turnovers. Play good defense. Take smart shots.... and we should win.

Then again, you could say that before every single game!

Don't love our personnel matchups with this group, honestly. They're gonna be very physical down low. Simpson will draw a ton of fouls. I'm planning to go as of now but the hype about this storm is crazy!

Imo it's really that Rutger is very good defending against the interior game, and that's our game, and it's in their house. The spread of -3.5 favoring Rutger is based largely on that. Rutger also defends the 3 well, will be interesting to see if we do get going (again) on an inside-out game, this is a game we SHOULD, because just working it inside against a very solid interior D on the road is a recipe for a quick L. I expect us to lose this one, but hope for a W.

I wouldn't call hacking and slashing good defense.

Tickets are DIRT cheap on SeatGeek right now. Can sit a row behind the bench for about $40 after fees. I'm going to try not to think about the money I've wasted if I don't go. At this rate I'd rather eat the loss than wind up stranded in a flood and out even more money... but... this is one of the few chances I get to see IU basketball play in person these days! Truly may need to flip a coin.

(laughing/crying face)

...... main takeaway: shouldn't have to worry too much about the Rutgers crowd. Their student section, I hate to admit, was really loud last year. Definitely was being felt on the court.

Better go.  You might regret it...

We're staring at a 3 game stretch of Purdue, @Wisconsin and @ILL after this week. It's not a must win game, but we'd do ourselves a huge favor to go into that stretch on a 3 game winning streak.
