Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA

Recommended Posts

Open the checkbook. Do everything possible to keep this man in Bloomington.

The sharks will be circling in the water to get a piece of him with his history and what he’s doing here. It really is remarkable.

I just hope the chance to build IU into a consistent contender is the challenge he continues to seek…and maybe it will be. He’s a chip on the shoulder type of guy, and everyone told him it couldn’t be done here.

We can’t let another school outbid us. If it’s his lifelong goal to go coach at Florida and get fired after 3 years if he doesn’t win a national championship, nothing you can do about that. But you can’t lose him because of finances. Any amount you pay him will be earned back through his teams’ performances, and then some.

Awesome job by CCC and the entire staff.

Built a great team by utilizing the portal.

Did it once. Wonder if it’s sustainable?

Probably... it's obvious that  CCC can coach. He has a plan, and he's done it at every level that he's tried. #noComparison #tryAgain

Football is an entirely different animal. Trying to make a comparison between the two is clown stuff. And honestly unnecessary. Just let people enjoy IUFB without bringing in basketballs baggage.

Oh, I’m enjoying the hell out of the football program. Just wondering if the standards are the same for all programs

Well, they’re not. Because the nature of the sports are different. Hope that answers your question, go IUFB! Hope basketball makes us equally proud this year. We’ll see!!! Go Hoosiers baby

No that’s your opinion. And you guys react because it makes you uncomfortable to believe that building a team through the portal, regardless of the team, isn’t sustainable

Get the friggin’ Woodson discourse out of the football forum. Jesus

Hmmm…. Considering that “the Wooden discourse “ permeates pretty much every basketball thread

I know it may seem crazy but I think $10-$12 mil per year and the highest staff budget in the B1G may be in order here. If you want to keep him you'll have to back the truck up and give him so much he can't leave. Let's hope that's what happens.

Cignetti's foot has to be so tired from delivering so many @$$ kickings. On behalf of all Hoosier fans and all past incompetent administrations, I'm sorry you weren't hired 30 years ago.

To Mr. Dolson: Just build the man a statue already. Also, a major pay raise has been earned along with staff increases.

For those interested, here are his contract details: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2023/12/13/indiana-football-curt-cignetti-contract-27-million-iu-six-seasons/71911438007/
