Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA

Recommended Posts

Some JMU folks on their board think that if this isn’t announced by this afternoon it bodes well for them and he won’t be coming.  Thinks at that point he’s playing IU to try and get more out of JMU or Duke haha. I just don’t see that happening. I bet Dolson presented him with a solid plan to help get him a good start to get this thing turned around.

They may not, at least I'd hope not, but doesn't mean it couldn't be leveraged to get more from another high major like Duke.

Yeah, Duke is the dark horse here. Big Ten is our saving grace.

I think Duke is looking at others more seriously than Cigs

I saw where Duke was looking at former Dallas Cowboy HC Jason Garrett.

Our athletic department makes makes close to 100,000,000 more per year, so it’s a rather large indictment on our buy-in to the football program if they can

If JMU would be able to match our offer just shut the program down because we are as unserious about it as we could be.

Oh great, Duke is involved. We're already lost. No way we can compete against Duke.

Oh, wait. This is football. As long as IU is willing to spend money, we shouldn't lose a HC candidate to Duke.

Duke also isn't on IU's special level of inept either, no one is.

No, but they've also not been very good historically. Not IU level bad but not very good with an all time winning percentage of 49%.

Cig is also probably well aware that if he comes here and it works out like he’s gonna plan on doing, it’ll make him look like a God here with how bad our history in the sport has been. He’ll be way more of a savior figure being a success at IU than the likes of Duke, right? He’s got something to prove and proving it at IU will be more special than Duke I would think.

Duke has been to like 7 bowl games in the last 10 years or so.  I can only dream of being as good as Duke.  lol

49%…anything over 50% is actually a pretty solid win % in football because there are only 12 games in a season and years ago only 10 games….especially for average range and especially especially for IU type football programs.

This football thread will crack a 100
