Indiana vs. Louisville- Mon. 11/20 @ 4:30 pm on ESPNU (Empire Classic)

Recommended Posts

You SOBs are so schizophrenic.  Up and Down within a few pages.  My IU grad kid was moaning and groaning as well, with about 6 min left.  I said patience grasshopper.  Never give up boys.
And Kudos to Woodson for pulling a zone out of his rear.  Should keep the "fire Mike Woodson" thread at bay for a few more games.  :)

Well every complaint was justified. We didn't play well. We did alot of things wrong. We made 1 3 point shot. We did what we needed to do to get the win. If the zone helps these guys play defense we need to go to more. The end of the day we have another opportunity to get better before Sunday. Hopefully we can improve!

Louisville ending a game on a bad run kind of backs up what Stuhoo said about them.

Fortuitous. They were up a bucket on us with minutes to go. And you’re overlooking they just missed beating UT by a bucket. That’s not exactly sucky

Not only did we run zone, but they ran it pretty well.  Allowed a couple of entry passes to the free throw line that you wouldn't like to see happen, but I was pleased in that in the zone they seemed cognizant where the perimeter players were.

BTW,

Kaleb Banks looked quick to the ball, didn’t get lost defensively, showed a lot more handle than last year, and generally was a great lift to the team.

Banks had some nice minutes and looked good on the backside of that zone. When I suggested zone earlier in the year I thought it might help MM and utilize his length, but Banks looks natural there.

With that said, good teams will run that zone ragged. I like it as a change of pace. Same with the press. I wouldn’t mind seeing a 122 with someone like Banks up top for a couple possessions. But ultimately we have to get a lot better at m2m.

Cool.  If UT's shot doesn't fall and Louisville wins....they are still sucky.  2-23 against in their last 25 games against power conference teams.  They lost to Chattanooga and only beat UMBC by 1.  I hope they do get better just so they finish in the top 200 NET and it's a quad 3 win.  But they were 315 last year, so 200 might be a stretch....because they are sucky.

Well couldn't see a lot of the game while watching from the tractor cab, but good for Woody switching things up and running zone. To be honest I thought we were cooked and I was going to be miserable tomorrow since I work in Loserville!

I will go home and watch the second half again, but what kind of funk is Trey in? As a senior guard, we can't afford to have whatever the heck this is. Props to the bench tonight!

Any chance that Woody wouldn’t have switched to zone if Coach Knight was still alive, fearful that RMK would rush the court and the berate the **** out of him?
Even now Woody is probably juuuust a little worried RMK is gonna find a way to let him have it.   :)

He went to it a few times before when knight was alive. Knight would probably beat his @$$ for allowing the poor defense we have seen this season lol

Objective complaints are fine.  The whole freaking world is ending for IU basketball stuff -- not so much.  :)

Anyone feel bad that Dakich had to rewrite his script that he had written up about the embarassing Indiana loss with 6 minutes left in the game?

Me neither.  He'll probably still go with it.

6 minutes left? He probably had it written up before the game even started.
