Mgbako just needs to spend the next week shuffling up and down the court during practice. His lateral quickness/anticipation is shockingly bad.

It’s VERY, VERY early in his career but his quickness, athleticism, instincts etc are pretty underwhelming at this point. The reviews of him were very positive but the caveat was that that he is not athletically elite. I assumed that just meant he wasn’t athletically elite for a five star type guy but he he not showing quickness, hops, nor does he get any boards outside of his “space”.

Hopefully he starts making more buckets, because his stroke looks good, but I’m not sure he is as multi-dimensional as we hoped.

But again…..It’s very early.

Offense better…. Defense terrible. Uconn walk-ons might get some run

I woods like to believe so but Wright State gave up 105 and 78 to Colorado State and Toledo. I don’t think Wright State is good at defense.

The shot selection was good and the stroke is great. The shots just didn’t fall.

The defense is beyond awful.

I agree with both comments.

Was glad to see him put up 9 shots, even though he only he only made 3, because we need his offense to develop in order to have a decent season.

On the defensive side, as you mentioned, yikes!

Ware 9-11, 22 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks.

I’ve questioned his ability to play through contact against better players. But he’s delivered 3 games in a row. If he does that versus a good Uconn team—even if the rest of the team is bad—i will at least feel like we have something to build around going forward.

Ware makes me laugh.  Bloomington is just a quick pit stop.

Have said it since game 1.  Mgbako can’t play with Malik and Ware.  We are going to lose games if something doesn’t change there.  We are lucky we haven’t already. Malik and Ware have to play the big minutes.  Mgbako should be playing limited minutes behind Malik.  Unfortunately, I don’t think CMW will even think about it. He’s going to continue playing too many minutes and we will be worse for it.

I don’t see why we need Walker in the rotation.  Seems like a great kid but not sure what he gives us on the court.  Banks should be playing more anyway.  Still see the potential with him.
