Scott May has to be the first pick.  We probably win the title in ‘75 and have back to back undefeated seasons if he doesn’t break his arm.

I am pretty sure the question was not what I injuries cost us a championship. It was who could have been a star player if there career wasn't derailed by injuries.

So Scott May, Mike Woodson, and Alan Henderson aren’t what this discussion is centered on.

Similarly, when Edey stubs his massive toe this season and cannot play, I don’t wanna hear whining from Purdoo fans when they finish behind Minnesota.

Bailey was probably too successful to fit the parameters set for this thread but as good as he was, his chronic knee problems kept him from reaching his full potential. He's probably the headliner, along with Evans, of the accomplished a lot despite constant injury club though.

Wilkerson got kicked off the team for domestic battery.

This is what happens when you just read the headline, and not the actual posts… I didn’t even realize there was a whole first page of this topic.

If you’re doing “feelings hurt” I’d say Luke Recker.  Then I didn’t think he fully recovered from injuries for his Iowa career, which was still pretty good anyways.

But he was one of the more talented HS players I had seen, and then was really good for us.

Guyton’s senior year should’ve been him and juniors Lewis and Recker in the backcourt with a soph Haston up front. Reckers senior year would’ve been him, Lewis, and coverdale, with Haston and a frosh Jeffries up front.

Those teams were probably good enough w/ Recker to make a run at a FF or better. Everyone complained that Knight gave up on recruiting in the late 90’s, but I think he really gave up on trying to reign himself in and work with the guys he had. I mostly blame the player, but by that time Knight was in full-blown IDGAF a-hole mode. Between the above scenario and getting fired before the ‘02 team Knight cost himself a couple shots at a 4th title.

As for actual injuries at IU, then Mo Creek. He should’ve been a heckuva scorer for us, but then seemed like he could barely move after the knee injury. Great guy by all accounts and it makes me sad thinking about it.

Don’t know how I forgot that ACL, yeah he could have had a monster soph season

Beat #1 Kansas that year before his injury. I believe we were ranked in Top 10 after that game. OG had 13 & 7 and played about 35 minutes. Even after his injury I don't know how Indiana missed the tournament that year with Bryant, JBJ, Juwan Morgan, Robert Johnson
