There are two reasons they lost that don't show up in these stats. A pick 6 and a missed field goal RaceToTheTop 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Only saw parts of the game, but in what I saw, I thought Akron was a poorly-coached team...and they still looked better than us. Joe_hoopsier 1 Quote

That’s cause they were better than us. They beat us In just about every important statistic…was it not for their kicker missing a chip shot, we would’ve lost to one of the the worst teams in FBS. Alford Bailey Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Saw one post from friends at the start of OT and it looked like one side of the stadium was completely empty Quote

The student side was pretty sparsely filled at the beginning of the game. The students had a pretty good turnout to start. Their corner of the stadium was full from bottom to top until halftime.....60% of them disappeared at halftime and never came back. What little energy that was in the stadium to begin with left with them. That being said, those students that stayed ended up moving from side to side of the stadium during the OT to at least have some noise for Akron to deal with. Nothing about this program changes unless we start winning games. I don't think the current staff is building a winning culture. I think the AD needs to hire someone that can force a culture (and sometimes that looks mean) and if they can't get their guy initially they need to overpay to get him. There should be one more facility upgrade in the works short term and then a full on push to get the best staff possible. Stuhoo, Home Jersey, craigyv88 and 2 others 4 1 Quote
