IUBB vs Purdue: 2/25 @7:30 on FOX

Honestly has some Derozan to his game, the midrange is underrated, he gets to his spot like an NBA guard and drills the midrange like Derozan. Hell Kobe had a sweet midrange game. He’s also a big guard and already has a man’s body and game.

I’ve no doubt he can succeed in the League, my only questions go to how up and down his season’s been, and who is likely to draft him and at what spot. The same people saying he’s gone, sure fire high first rounder maybe lottery, we’re questioning him after his really off games and saying then he’s not going anywhere. It’s almost comical seeing the rapid opinion swings.
Dude has all the talent, he’ll probably go, but no it’s not a certainty, still many games left. I think he’ll have the choices he wants, but I also would love to see him come back

I believe most people on this board would love for him to come back. He's the type of talent that can lead you deep into March.

You touched on some of the physical attributes and the midrange game. I believe he's shooting better than anticipated from deep too. His defense is already there. I have a feeling he'll test out athletically better than what we've seen. His game isn't athletically based but it's there. His decision making can get questionable at times but it seems others on this team get really hesitant to shoot and he's stepping up.

JHS is better than Shai Gilgeous Alexander was at this point in their careers. Shai was drafted 11th and is now averaging 30 ppg in OKC. Similar size and game.

Every draft year is different, it depends on the overall talent level and what teams are drafting and where.

Nobody in the NBA really cares about IU vs Purdue. And while JHS played amazing, he lived off a bunch of shots—mid range jumpers—most NBA teams don’t care about.

What impresses all is how well JHS  picked apart the defense. He read it like a pro. And, yes, even NBA scouts are abuzz about JHS's performance. To compare him to Justin Smith is totally absurd.

If you’re stubborn like Painter and drop back he’ll hit that nice mid range jumper all day. Zero nba teams play defense like that.

When you blitz or trap him, he backs up every time. That’s a big thing to work on. NBA teams will want to see him split the double or use exceptional athleticism to turn the corner on the outside man.

Nobody is saying he can’t play at the next level; we’re just discussing how high a team will want to draft him this year. A lot of that will be based on athleticism not midrange shooting at the college level.

It’s underrated.  Bottom line is he is a point guard with nice size and length for a defender.  I’m not getting the strikes at his athleticism, either.

Completely agree. He's quick on/with the ball, his lateral movement, quick 'twitch' and running the floor speed is good,  his D is usually strong, and he's a big, strong point or combo-guard. He's athletically in good position for the next level.

He’ll be an average athlete at the next level. His defense will be a liability.

Those are the primary reasons he wasn’t high on draft boards to begin with. Some nice performances are pushing him up.

If he can find a way to score, even without being a good player, some team will pay him. Deangelo Russell is a good example. Pretty bad team player, but can put up stats 1v1 so he’ll always cash a check from some dumb NBA team.

Dlo isn’ta bad comp, actually. Similar size and not a great athlete although I’d say probably a touch more athletic than JHS. He put up 19-6-5 as an all American and went 2nd in a decent draft after his freshman year. JHS isn’t having the year Dlo did, but I like his mentality better.
