We still have a chance to sneak into the NCAA Tournament.  If we miss the Tournament, do we accept an NIT invite if offered?

I don’t mean to laugh in a callous way but I’m gonna go with a big fat no, lol. Didn’t last year when Woody was coming back, he’s not next year and the team will probably all be in the portal.

I assume that we won't for the reasons you list.  I just wondered since we have 4 5th year seniors that may want to keep playing as long as possible.

I'm guessing no.  Can't imagine any motivation for any of the assistants to want to continue working and the players with eligibility will want to start portal visits.  A few extra games don't mean anything since we probably won't have but a few, if any, players who actually plan to return.

I thought I read that if/when we miss the NCAA tournament, this new Fox sponsored tournament in Las Vegas was the most likely destination. It seems like there might be some conference tie ins with it so we might get some pressure to play than we would with the NIT.

Women were supposed to wear them tonight, and I think the men were supposed to wear them next week against Penn State.

Wasn’t sure where else to post this so landed here…

Since the Hoosiers have looked and played much better, and since it appears they are a tournament team, this is what I would like to see from them in March:

1. One big starts and they sub in for each other as much as possible. Obviously it’s working much better than the alternative, so stick with it. 

2. Mgbako starts and has a tight leash. I like what they’ve done with his minutes towards the end of game in particular. Sub in, sub out if you must. 

3. Keep one of Leal or Galloway on the floor at all times if possible. These seniors are leading the team’s resurgence. Reward them. 

4. Get Goode 7-10 threes a game because 3-5 made a game does so much for the offense.

5. Have Rice play off ball when Gallo is in and only 3-5 minutes of him commanding the offense at a time. I like when he shoots in rhythm and that forces him to more. 

I like the way the team is playing lately and would love to root them on to a Cinderella-esque run because it’s better than any other outcome at this point in the season. We have the talent so let’s see it!

Probably depends on a couple of things: (1) does the new coach want them to stay; (2) will they still want to stay if their NIL changes; (3) could they get paid better elsewhere...

Great point on NIL.  I am guessing the new coach will do a double-take when he sees the NIL levels Woody has some of these guys at. 

It's all up to the new coach, but I am fine with no players returning.

With respect to our recruits, Sisley is committed to IU the program -- love that!  Zrno committed with Woody about to get fired and he has no connection to IU, which leads me to believe he is another guy who might be on sky high NIL that may not make sense... we shall see.
