Starting to wonder if Bloomington and surrounding areas will be cleaned up in time for USC to get to town for Wednesday. Historic-sounding winter storm starting tomorrow.

I'd be more concerned about the guys getting back from Philly tomorrow afternoon/night in the teeth of that.

That’s a good point. I don’t really know how/if they will.

Evan Miya uses a stat called 'the kill shot' -- it's where a team goes on a 10-0 run.  Statistically, if a team has more 'kill shots' during a game, they will 8/9ths of the time.  IU registered their 7th kill shot of the year against Penn State as they went on a 12-0 run to start the second half.  IU has won all of their games where they have administered a 'kill shot' and in all three of their losses have had their opponent administer a kill shot.  The only game that went against the trend was the Rutgers game, where Rutgers had a 10-0 kill shot in the first half and IU did not have one.

KS IU Opp
SIUE 1 0 11-0 IU
E Illinois 2 0 15-0, 11-0 IU
South Carolina 0 0
UNCG 1 0 10-0 IU
Louisville 0 1 14-0 LOU
Gonzaga 0 1 14-0 GON
Providence 0 0
Sam Houston 1 0 11-0 IU
MIami (O) 1 0 12-0 IU
Minnesota 0 0
Nebraska 0 1 10-0 NEB
Chattanooga 0 0
Winthrop 0 0
Rutgers 0 1 10-0 RUT
Penn State 1 0 12-0 IU
TOTAL KS 7 4

As the last undefeated Tennessee loses, for the 49th straight season Hoosier Nation gets to officially celebrate the last undefeated and best college basketball team ever:

Given the depth of talent now and the roster volatility every year I imagine we’ll be able to post this every year for the foreseeable future. I don’t see how a team goes undefeated now. Hell, that team only had maybe 6 or 8 games they had any chance of losing and they had 4 or 5 they easily could have. Now,  I don’t care how good the team is they’ve got 15 they can realistically lose. Personally, I like IU’s undefeated standard holding up longer than the Dolphins.

49 years is damn impressive, and yeah it’s now even harder to go undefeated. A team that continues to stand the test of time

Wow. I’ve always liked Garl but if the allegations in this story are true it’s hard to look at him the same. Probably time to hang it up anyway…
