With AAU season getting started, here's a refresher on the types of contact our staff can have with targets,.

Dead period: During the dead period, coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits and/or their parents. But communication is still allowed to occur via phone, email and social media/other digital communication channels.

  • Mar. 31-Apr. 7 (noon), 2022
  • Apr. 11-14, 2022
  • May 19-27, 2022
  • Jul. 6-31, 2022

Quiet period: During a quiet period, athletes can talk to college coaches in-person on their college campus. However, the coach can’t watch recruits compete in-person, visit their school, talk to them at their home or anywhere outside of the college campus.

  • Apr. 21-Jul. 5, 2022

Evaluation period: Also known as a live period, the evaluation period is the specific time of year when college coaches can watch an athlete compete in person or visit their school—but that is about all they can do. Coaches can’t communicate with recruits (or their parents) off the college campus.

  • Apr. 8-10, 2022 (NCAA certified events only)
  • April 22-24 (NCAA certified events only)
  • NBA Draft Combine (TBD)
  • Jun. 17 (noon)-19 (6p.m.), 2022
  • Jun. 24 (noon)-26 (6p.m.), 2022 (For scholastic events approved by the NCAA and NFHS and intercollegiate events approved by applicable two-year college governing body only – see Bylaw 13.1.7.5.3)
  • NBPA Top 100 Camp (TBD)
  • Jul. 7-10, 2022 (NCAA certified events, institutional camps and permissible governing body events)
  • Jul. 26-31, 2022 (NCAA College Basketball Academy only)

Contact period: All communication between athletes and coaches is fair game during the contact period. This is when coaches are most active in their recruiting process.

  • Apr. 7 (noon)-20, 2022
  • Apr. 25-28, 2022

Adidas and Under Armour both have events in Indy this coming Friday, Saturday & Sunday.   It is an opportunity to watch Paul McNeil, Cooper Koch, Gabe Cupps, J.Q. Roberts,  Khani Rooths &  Bryson Tucker in the Adidas event and Jakai Newton, Bryson Tiller and Derek Queen in the UA event.  Anyone thinking of going, let me know and I can give you the time and location of where you can see a particular player.

With 3 events in the Indy area my guess is Coach Ya goes to Orlando and quite possibly Woody makes a trip for a game or 2.  Rest of the staff will float between the 3 Indy events.

Sisley and Haralson (probably others?) playing up and will be in Orlando this weekend.  I assume Walsh taking over duties for Fife on those two 2025 guys.

Carr and Evans are there too this weekend so that's why Ya is there

Also our latest offer Arrinten Page who plays for TSF.    Last fall Walsh was mentioned as in contact with '24 Royce Parham from North Hills HS in Pittsburgh who is an AAU teammate of Kwame Evans.  And a very recent Pittsburgh article mentioned us so possibly another reason Walsh made the trip.
