I agree Hoosier Aloha, we were getting better, gaining confidence now look where we are.

Easy to get confidence when you’re beating the teams I listed above. They’re bad.

Stop

1) you're not a coach so you could never know that

2) remember we have 2 wins against teams ahead of us in the standings

3) we can't expect to win against the Nebrasketballs and Penn States of the Big 1.o anymore

Not really sure what your #1 is in reference to And I’m just posting what is true. We’ve beaten up on the cellar of the BIG (and lost some as well). I’ll give you OSU and Purdue. But those are more an anomaly than anything.

That performance is exactly what you get when you have a team wanting to try and prove themselves after dumb off-court decisions but they don't have any direction or leadership. They gave actual e and e in this game. The motor was revved but the steering wheel and GPS were somewhere else.

I think they missed Woody's message of needing to fight for the win with needing to fight MSU. MSU is a good team but very beatable. Instead of creating chaos on defense and forcing them into turnovers or getting out and running we tried to fight them. I'm pretty sure they're really enjoying our performance for them to get over their bad play.

Anomalies or not they still count. Be happy for what we have and move on.

We don’t have the proper talent but we’re good enough to be in the tourney. I just don’t see that happening now. I don’t really care who agrees or not but Woodson isn’t the guy. He just isn’t. Red flags all over the place with his coaching decisions and philosophy. I’ve never come to a conclusion on a coach this quick but I’ll be shocked if we ever do anything under his lead.

That is certainly a take.  Quick question, did you think Archie Miller was a good hire initially?

I see a massive improvement from Archie.  It certainly isn't to the level we want to be, but there is massive improvement

Eh not really. 5 of our 7 BIG wins are against the worst in the conference. Our BIG record was always fools gold. We aren’t playing the Nebraska’s and penn state’s anymore this year.

When was the last time this program did that? Bad as it sounds it’s probably an improvement over the last couple years actually winning those games.    Archie’s first year was the last time IU finished .500 or better in conference.  That year IU feasted on the bottom half.   Difference this year is IU actually has a chance at feasting on the bottom and still have a chance to get in while that year they were so far from the bubble it didn’t matter they feasted on the bottom

Add to it our noncon SOS, although Notre Dame has turned it around in a really bad ACC. When you make the mistakes and have the flaws we do they don't magically disappear. You have to actually work on them to get better. That hasn't really happened from an individual or scheme level. It leaves us where we are today, skidding and hoping it stops.

The good news, we should be able to get at least Maryland at home and possibly Minny on the road. Then you would have to hope we could somehow take down the surging Rutger at home.

What’s the “massive improvement”? The defense has been better but we’re just as bad offensively.

Tis true, and that hurts reading that. Little Arch did get a win or two against the mighty might whizzos. Although he could never figure out how to win our super bowl.

I believe we've been fouling at a higher than average rate this year (?). Not too surprised this turned into a foul fest in EL.

Is our offense really worse than last year? Another statement that hurts the heart. I didn't think our offense could get worse than last season AND we have better offensive players?! Goodness

It's just the people who want coach Knight 2.0. The administration at the time didn't want a coach who was bigger than the university. If you think about it, that's a reasonable position. I was there before and after CBK. I appreciated everything he did for IU basketball, but his time and style was and is past. It's hard to embrace the future while constantly looking at the past.

I’m not even sure that exists in college athletics anymore period. Saban maybe? He’d be the closest thing, but Knight probably still had more control by a wide margin.

Your response makes sense though. Appreciated.

I'm not a coach, nor expert, so when even I can see that our offense sucks, it must REALLY suck. No movement of more than one guy at a time, throw it into TJD and clog the paint with your presence to get a rebound...or an over the back foul. And I could go on and on, but you guys already know what I'm talking about.

What a complete turd from some of the guys...

Stewart and Galloway were big stinky....

Only 11 combined minutes from Durr and Geronimo?

And what exactly is Kopp bringing to the table... anyone? anyone? Bueller?

At least Bates had a good game.

Geronimo probably leads the country in fouls per minute, if that’s tracked. It’s really hard to play him extended minutes, as much as I’d like to.

Oddly, only has 4.2 PF/40 min overall and 3.9 in the B1G. Comparison, Parker Stewart leads those that get regular minutes with 4.9 per 40 mins.
