So that likely impacts Newton. I don’t think Banks changes this late in the game, if changes happen.

Don’t think it impacts Newton.  The family seems all in on IU.   Payne was the one that told Ya to take the IU job and work for Woody.   They are close.  If Payne asks probably hard to turn down unless they get hammered by ncaa. Lol.

Do we know who the lead recruiter is on him, Hova?

I want to say Brian Walsh had the contact on him. I think that was posted in his recruiting thread. I could also be totally making stuff up, but he’s right in the Walsh/Archie pipeline area in Pittsburgh so it would make sense.

Edit: don’t mind Old Fart up there…he doesn’t have his readers on!

It’s Walsh primarily, but since he hasn’t been offered yet probably just getting an assistant involved.

Man, Walsh is putting in work, his name consistently comes up with recruits - it's just a matter of time until he gets an Ast. Coach position 'somewhere.'

Hey, it's a Saturday night and I have my weekly date with my Uncle Jack!  Maybe you've heard of him, Jack Daniels?

Walsh is employed as a recruiter. I don’t think he has a lot of other responsibilities. He’s the guy that does ‘volume outreach’ on a daily basis.

My friend Captain Morgan and I just had a healthy giggle at your expense.

Yeah, former player, worked under Archie (even though he was doody, has his fair share of connections) for ~8 years, currently working under Woody (not doody, but same)…just a matter of time for him.

I'm not familiar with Cody the Dog.  Is it made in Tennessee?

:) I should have been more clear…Cody the dog is merely the best boy. He’s half Golden Retriever and half Lhasa Apso, so he was likely made in a Florida dog park, not Tennessee.

It’s a pretty solid Australian hooch called Starward Nova in the glass.

I want Thiero bad. Just a gut feeling like I’ve said before.

I do too...also gut feeling as well. That kid has things that you just simply cannot teach with the position that he plays. Which would benefit us tremendously on the defensive end. Being able to guard multiple positions.

Now about next year's roster. There are 3, maybe 4 that I'm for sure not inviting back if I'm Woody. The 3 are Durr, P Stew, and Kopp. I won't mention my 4th. If we lose Race, I really like what Geronimo gave us here at the end of the year. I'm  really hopeful in seeing him make a big jump. Lastly, I'm hopeful and curious as to what Logan D can bring. If I remember, seems he has the ability to stretch the floor.

I think there’s a place for Kopp on next year’s roster with a diminished role. Would Woody diminish his role? I think that might be the issue.

If you can guarantee me we’re replacing Kopp’s roster spot with a better player I can be on board, but the grass isn’t always greener in the portal for players or teams taking players from it in this case.

Anyone who gets called “a poor man’s Scottie Barnes” gets Hova feeling “all oofy.”

Has Thiero been label a poor man's Scottie Barnes? If so, I'm excited about the possibility!!
