I hate to say it but it’s time to move on from Phinsee. Give Lander the minutes

I'd like to, but Lander still is just not ready.  But at this point.....Phinissee gives good defense when he's healthy but that's about it, so it's forcing Lander to play more minutes.

Might be worth occasionally seeing Stewart at the point and Bates or Leal at the two guard when X isn't in.  Stewart has played the point before.  He was the main ball handler at UT Martin.

Final possession in OT was a travesty. Defense all game was a travesty. Our offense in general was incredibly good. Can’t blame that foul at the end. Kopp barely got touch on his attempt the possession before. Ticked, because that one was really important.

Yes,

For all of the bitching about the refs (much of which I agree with) the foul that gave Kopp his 3 free throws was ticky tacky. Also, when TJD got the offensive board, off KL’s intentional miss,  he blatantly pushed off to get the board and then I don’t think he was fouled on the shot.

In any case,  you just can’t turn the ball over that much. Cuse had over 30 points off TO’s. Just a crazy number.

In terms of him 'fouling' at the end......absolutely no way he did.  I was pissed when I thought they called TJD for a foul, but if the call was actually on Lander, that's pathetic.  A foul call on TJD there would have been bad.  On Lander?  That's fabricated.

I'd have to see the replay to be sure, but I think Boeheim got him pretty good with the body when Kopp came down. There was no contact on the shot itself, but Boeheim's momentum carried him into Kopp as he landed. ... At least that's what I thought I saw. They weren't big on showing replays tonight.

Missed opportunity for a Q1 win.   First one of the year.   Plenty more opportunities down the road

Yep.  And I doubt the committee looks that unfavorably on a road loss by 2 in double OT on the road.

Yeah, not sure where replays were on the little part I did get to watch.  Lot of important calls made.....and at most would get one incomplete replay of it.

Does anyone think this has the potential to be a quad 1 loss for us?

It will be a Q1 loss at the end of the year  in my opinion.   I’m guessing when the NET comes out Monday it will start out as a Q1 loss

I thought he was fine. He's learning. He's not a guy that's going to play starter minutes yet but he's close to passing Rob for me. I did get upset he didn't go after that lose ball. Think it was 101-97 at the time and Syracuse scored. In my head I thought that was the turning point...not blaming him but it would've been nice to have had the ball and extend the lead.

IMO, on the play at the end of first OT when where we had the last possession to win, it looked to me like Lander didn't run (or didn't know) the play.  I think the play was a pick and roll to TJD.  TJD came out and set the pick and Lander......didn't use it.  They weren't trying to get Trayce the ball twenty feet out but he had to step out because Lander was dribbling the air out of the ball.

I think the play was Trayce to set a pick and then Lander was to penetrate when the defense collapsed in, he had two options -- throw it to Trayce who would have been rolling to the basket or kick to Stewart in the corner.  Instead he waited too long forcing Trayce to come off his pick and Lander ended up dribbling to the wrong side of the floor and throwing it to Race.

Syracuse is one of the better shooting teams in the Country but their lack of athleticism is going to cost them a ton of games. We let them do exactly what they wanted to do on offense. Terrible defensive game plan.

Anyway, i think they finish right in the middle of the ACC. I think we finish in the middle of the B1G.
