Not complaining about getting a kid or multiple kids from MVA but if you look at their 26 wins, they won 20 by 20+ points.  I know that league is considered the best but was just surprised that so many games are not close.

It is an extremely talented team and deep in talent.

They aren’t listed on some rankings. I think PaulVI was ranked #1 when Monteverde beat them.

It is a problem that there are multiple rankings that get published and not all schools are considered in every ranking.  Private school, public school, EYBL, etc.

That half court oop to Newell was insane. Jokic like passing ability

Yeah, and the reverse pivot back door cut to Givens, Those are tough plays and he makes them look like they just aren’t.

Rivals from this weekend:

The 6-foot-10, 245-pound big plays with a confidence that says he can’t be stopped and then his play makes that aura the reality. Queen’s ability to carve out position in the paint and create space and angles for easy scores is next level. He averaged 15 points, 15 rebounds and four assists through two games this weekend. As for his recruitment, Queen said he thinks “it’s getting to that time” to make a decision. His final four consists of HoustonKansasIndiana and Maryland.

Don’t have Peegs sub but reading the Twitter replies to the article sounds pretty good for IU. Seems he mentioned Ware going pro or not as a deciding factor. Would make sense as to why he hasn’t announced anything yet and one would assume this could be a good thing for IU. If anyone read the article and got something different from it, please correct me.

He’s not coming if we Fire Mike Woodson!

That's no reason to keep a bad coach... at best Queen will be a one and done (IF he comes to IU)...

And it's interesting to me to read the order of the schools listed in the Peegs article (assuming @Demo 's quote is accurate): Houston, Kansas, Indiana and Maryland... that kind of jumped out at me when I read it... all the earlier reports made it sound like a battle between Indiana and Maryland, and now Houston and Kansas are listed ahead of both of the previous "leaders".

The story circulating was that he was Hoosier-bound if Ware leaves... and I'd almost guarantee that Ware is gone next year... so, he must be reconsidering it all at this point... curious how big of a factor is Woodson's status in his mind?

He’s not going anywhere this season. Im not thrilled about it but it’s pretty much a given.

Assuming that’s the case, personally, I'm going to be rooting that we get this kid. These Montverde guys are not your standard run of the mill 5 star kids. They are difference makers as soon as they hit the floor. If we can have 2 of them in one class, it changes the calculus for us. Obviously we need to put more pieces together but it makes that more of a possibility. These are the kinds of kids that even Mike Woodson can win with.

I said it before: if we can rebound and have a similar year to last year, next year, we will have avoided a ton of bad optics and will likely open up the candidate pool tremendously.

im rooting for us to get this kid and bounce back next year. Go read my post history. That’s completely against the grain for me.

I don’t think the schools were listed in any order

I doubt the order of the teams in the article has any thing to do with where he is going.

I don’t think that is on his mind.  Woodson will be back but I think what is on his mind is how bad IU and Maryland are in comparison to Houston and Kansas.  He’s probably wondering if it is more the same next year, because he and Liam are used to winning.  If I were a 5 star recruit that is a potential 1 and done, I would want to go somewhere where I am almost guaranteed to make it to the dance and that place sure to s**t ain’t IU while Woodson is our coach.

True, but conversely, would Queen see the kind of playing time at Houston or Kansas that he could get at IU or Maryland... Houston and Kansas will be stacked with 4- and 5-star players... not saying Queen would be afraid to challenge for playing time, but would it be easier at one of the B1G schools? And would that matter to him in the end?

That, along with how they view the role on a team, is in the vast majority of player's minds.  Heck, that's true at the NBA level as well.  Guys request trades all the time and end up on worse teams because they aren't happy with the role on a winning team.

Consider the number of 4 and 5 star players that transfer from their schools after their freshman season when their offensive role or playing time was limited previously.  IU has one in Ke'lel Ware.

Regardless of your feelings on Woodson, IU is on track to put their 2 best bigs in the NBA in back to back years. That is attractive to any post player. Then you add the benefit of playing with one of your best friends in McNeely and playing with Malik who is another Montverde alum and it all makes sense as to why IU is thought to be the leader. That's not even taking into account NIL and IU has to be the leader out of Maryland and Houston. I don't think Kansas is possible with them having Flory and the possibility of Dickinson returning.
