Can McDermott win a title at Creighton?

I rather have Pearl than Greg. At least Pearl has proven himself on the P4 in the NIL era.

Big East isn’t a mid major conference

Big East is a mid-major conference unless you expect Butler, Providence, etc., to compete in the 23 million dollar salary cap next year.

...I'm sitting in my classroom with zero students today, by choice. I just needed to get out of the house. lol

We got a virtual learning day because of the snow. Students have a shortened class schedule, including a required google meet with teachers. lol

I chose to come to school so I can be at my desk, do my google meets and follow this board today in quiet. Let's keep the good news flowing today!

Go IU!

We are off since it's President's Day.  I'm alone in my house scrolling waiting for some good news, and I am drinking my coffee.  Nothing to do but wait.  I should be grading, but that sounds like Tuesday's problem.  Go Hoosiers!

Not me!

For this year? Sure.

But at Indiana? He’d be 65 years old his first day on the job and we’d have maybe one recruiting cycle before he was gone too.

To be clear... you want McDermott over Pearl? I'm not insinuating anything, I'm asking.

I still like Micahs style of play, won't convince me otherwise.

Very rarely though you win with freshmen. Look at Rutgers. So he might get it turned around but it's going to take some time

He’s going to have to go the Scheyer route and bring in some senior leadership through the portal. South Bend is going to be a tough sell tho.

Both of those guys are next level outstanding coaches. But I’m not a fan of 60 year old plus guys.

Pearl is a slightly better option for the here and now. But At least McDermott would potentially be with us for eight or nine years. Pearl is a four year and then go through this all over again hire. I truly believe that there are many, many options that would also be outstanding, but would not necessitate a redo in the near future.

I agree. I will say, the country will get "younger" moving forward, and thats all sports... Galloways and Leals will be gone from their Covid years

That PSU team he had in year 2 is just how I envision basketball should be played.

In college basketball, the term "mid-major" is used to refer to teams that are members of a conference other than the "power conferences" of the Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, SEC, and ACC.[4] The Big East Conference does not sponsor football and thus is not considered a power conference in that sport[a], but is universally considered so in basketball, with the term "Power" sometimes used by media to describe the combination of the power football conferences and Big East.[4]The NCAA has officially recognized this distinction in the selection process for the National Invitation Tournament, as these conferences each receive automatic bids for their two highest-ranked teams not invited to the NCAA Tournament, as ranked by the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET).[5]

Tomato Tomato. The general assumption is P4 (B12, ACC, B1G,SEC) vs Mid-Major. Big East is upper tier mid-major if you will. The fact is most of the schools in the Big East will not be able to compete with the 23 million dollar salary cap next year.
