I’ll go over there and teach them a lesson. Maybe photoshop a picture of Brad on Kirkwood to really piss them off!

I'm just kidding as well. I read both sites, but this is the only one I have an account on. That site had me thinking Billy Donovan was looking at paint swatches for his new office last time around.

You mean he wasn't? I had a beautiful horse farm all picked out for his family till Fred hired Archie.

Yeah I agree. Relatively young, very quick turnarounds at both stops, good on the transfer market but immediately a good recruiter of HSers at Arkansas, where that’s probably a better option than it is at Nevada. He employed Jordan Sperber, the Hoop Vision guy, at Nevada.

His pattern at both stops: massive improvement in year one from the recently established historical level of the program, then year two is another step up.

Someone mentioned that Keith Smart played for him, so bring him on as an assistant

Since you asked :)

Agree on your "no chance" list. So moving on...

Beilein & Matta seem the most likely- need to be vetted for ability and drive. I say proceed with extreme caution, but proceed. Any red flags should eliminate them, IU can't afford to find out Beliein has lost the fire in his belly 2 years down the road or have Matta tapping out because of his back after a couple of seasons. Either would be devastating.

I have stated before that I can't imagine why Drew would want to move, BUT fine with kicking the tires. Still he isn't a magician. Took a good while to get things rolling in Waco. IU should be a faster turn-around but not sure it's fair to expect a dramatic turn.

Similar feel on Beard & Mack. Sadly, IU doesn't offer much over current jobs without a lot of grunt work first to return the shine.

Oats is the most interesting to me for personal reasons and that he is young and has some results to evaluate. Seems like a winner on the trajectory for big things.

I feel pretty good in saying that Drew would take over a tremendously more healthy team here than he did in Waco.

Means it will be Musselman since he isn't listed :)

Spaced it! I like Musselman. It was a joke anyway, but I just threw on 16 names as quickly as possible haha

Musselman is interesting to me. Long-time NBA guy. Six years as a head coach in college and he’s won his conference three times. Collegiate winning percentage of 74.6%. Guess the one bad thing is only one sweet 16 appearance, but that’s only in 5 seasons (with Covid canceling the tournament in one of them). He did win the CBI in 2016, which, well, is the CBI, but winning an end of the year tournament is still something.

He’s not at the top of my list. There’s a category of guys I’d like us to go for before getting to him. But if we strike out on those guys, Musselman is a hire I wouldn’t hate.

Pretty high bar there! I mean no one’s murdered anyone on their way out. ; )

Agree. That teammates killing teammates really has an impact on team chemistry and building a healthy culture.

so here's the "skunk at garden party" take:

Allen given raise by Dolson means, in addition to rewarding CTA for his good work, Miller is being retained for Year 5 (thereby saving $7 mil, even though donors are now willing to pay it anyway)

here's the "optimist's" take on the "skunk at garden party" take:

Dolson has a promising, maybe even elite, replacement in mind who is 1) interested but 2) unavailable, for whatever reason, until 2022

here's the "2nd skunk at garden party" take on the "skunk at garden party" take:

Dolson can afford the Allen raise because he's 1) pulling the plug on AM but 2) going with a cheaper replacement

Let's hope it's the 2nd take, because as I mentioned earlier in the thread, the 1st take is a fallacy of the highest order.

Yeah I’m finding it hard to believe Indiana is paying the football coach $5 million and the basketball coach $6-7 million.

Money is falling from the top of Briscoe I suppose!
