General Coach Candidate News

People saying HoosiersConnect doesn't know anything crack me up.

This is IU's primary NIL collective that works directly with Dolson. He can't pitch the job to a coach without being able to guarantee a substantial NIL pool.

They likely don't know who the coach is, but I'll bet they know more than we do. Them tweeting that this is all smoke lines up perfectly with what Osterman, Dolson's mouthpiece, tweeted a little while ago.

Yeah, if you read their comment they aren't there to break news.  They are just having fun.

At our expense I might add.

Well, let's check in on our last 5 head coaches:

1. MD - journeyman who hasn't sniffed the big time since and was never qualified

2.  Sampson - Ok, maybe one coach capable of coaching IU

3. Crean - fired from Georgia and likely won't coach again.  Coached an NBA HOF'er

4. Archie - sucks at RI and will likely never do much of anything again.  Was worse at his Dayton than his predecessor.

5. Woodson - likely permanently "retired".

I would argue 4 of those guys were never "qualified" to be IU's coach and here we are 25 years later.

They don't necessarily get me super excited from the outset, but I would argue they are more qualified than 4 of the 5 and at least have some tangible results behind them that would at least INDICATE success from their coaching abilities and not just what they stepped into or recruited.

Oh I certainly don't disagree. We've made some god awful hiring choices in the past 20+ years. Just hoping we buck the trend this year.

I come check this thread maybe once per day.  It's always the same process, I come here hoping to find something insightful but instead leave frustrated after seeing page after page of pointless banter.

Listen Vader, our banter is very pointed

Chris Hawkins seems to think it will be Jay Wright. Speaking of Hawkins, if he were to ever want to leave Attucks, he'd make a hell of an addition to the IU staff. Especially in some sort of a recruiting capacity. Would absolutely kill it here in Indy area.

Is he one of the coaches Dolson reportedly talked to a few weeks ago?

Jay Wright? There's one guy where I can overlook the age factor. You have me interested and aroused.
