of course it's not Quinn......are you being for real?

Was looking to see if there was genuine “for real” insight from that poster, or it was just an ad hominem attack. No need for worry.

Which creates a greater firestorm for Dolson, hiring Brownell or Beard?

Considering that neither is a serious candidate and this is purely hypothetical, Brownell. But for totally different reasons than Beard.

This one is tricky…..IMO, knowing Bloomington, the initial backlash from the usual subjects for Beard would be worse BUT he would quickly start winning and it would dissolve…..Brownell, I think most people will be so disappointed ,the firestorm will not start until he starts losing….and it will be worse than what would happen with Beard.

You didn't need a crystal ball to see how this was going to turn out.

I mean literally every NBA to college hire has been an unmitigated disaster...Ewing, Avery Johnson, Howard, Mullins, etc.  We could go one forever.  Not one has been successful.

Everyone in the world knew it at the time.  Everyone of course except the Indiana administration as always.  Dumbest people alive.

One is some initial bad PR, the other is torches and pitchforks.

No, he wasn’t. He probably would’ve been in the next week, but he wasn’t then.

Then he isn’t eligible for a buyout.  It’s a binary thing contractually.

So, WQB forced the hire of a former player, long time friend and mediocre NBA coach with no college experience, and there was doubt in the minds of some that it wouldn't end well? C'mon, that is pretty inconceivable ... the odds were incredibly slim that it ended any other way ... and when you factor in the approach that Woodson took to actually doing the job, it left very little doubt that it would end the way that it has.

And now we're trying to find a legitimate coach to resolve a 4 year (or 8 year) mess that is the basketball program. I hope there's someone willing and able to do the job... we will hopefully know soon.

Agree you didn’t need to be a rocket scientist to see the potential for a mediocre NBA coach to not be super successful in college, but people had been b*tching about “hire an IU guy” since they fired Davis. At least we can finally move past that

His Badgers just smoked Cronin's Bruins in the B1GT

His teams have always been hard to prepare for. Cronin ran into a buzzsaw.

One guy is all it takes for schools to forget all the rest. BYU right now is becoming the blue print for a school like Texas.
