lillurk Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Certainly get the questions about Ike’s fit. My hunch is he’ll get all the minutes he can handle somewhere else so this will be moot. My hunch is that the staff sees a roster coming back with one true big, Reneau, one undersized 4, and one 5 who’s given them zero high-leverage minutes in two years. Even if those two stay they may want some frontcourt insurance. My hunch is whatever guy(s) they add at the 4 and 5 will be less proven than Ike unless they’re clearly a 4 with shooting/ball skills a la Ledlum. Maybe a 5 who doesn’t offer much offensively besides ORebs, screens, dunks, but who can anchor the defense…think Tariq Owens. I like Ledlum and assume he’s the target at the 4? Think he can drive and defend, my hunch is he can shoot better in a lower usage role with an ace PG like X. Really like Timberlake at the 2 and assume they’d start Galloway alongside in such an arrangement. Quote

lillurk Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 My inference do far on PGs is that not pursuing one is an indication they know more than we do about X’s waiver chances 94Bulldog, thebigweave, CSP and 2 others 5 Quote

Ya know, he's also the single most successful player in the portal: Three years eligibility remaining In his one year of college ball he averaged 19.5 ppg, 9.6 rpg The year before he started for Wyoming they were 14-11, 5-9 The year he was healthy and started they were 25-9, 13-5 and a tournament team Last year with him hurt they were 9-22, 4-14 Is he a fast paced style player? Nope. But he probably wants to play faster (than Wyoming? lol - insert sloth-like jokes here). But we probably have four spots to fill. If one of them could be filled by arguably/likely the best big in the portal, that'd be fine. hoosierbgh, lillurk, NVFalcons1990 and 1 other 3 1 Quote

I don't see that they fill a need or help us move towards a more modern style of play. Just my thoughts. Henryville Hoosier 1 Quote

Dennis IMO wouldn't have moved the needle much for us....don't see Reeves really helping IU. Regardless, whoever ends up in Cream and Crimson are the guys I'm going to rooting for. I think Dexter would have moved the needle in nearly all of our losses this season. lillurk and hoosierbgh 2 Quote
