Stuhoo Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 As we were inbounding the ball the game clock said 4.2 and the shot clock was at one. When they reviewed the tape the shot clock had expired but the game clock had only run down to 3.4 and Trayce had let go of the ball. I think that’s why they counted it. There were 6 seconds left and the Texas school had the ball. After it was inbounded, the clock started late and after about 8-9 actual seconds, UTEP or UTSA took a shot and was fouled. The ODU staff went nuts -- rightly so -- and after reviewing the tape and realizing the shot came well after 6 seconds had expired, the refs said that's it, game over. Very bizarre ending. Quote

This reminded me of a game at Wisconsin, I think it was Knight's last year. We were down 2-3 and had a chance to tie/win the game when Wisconsin knocked it out of bounds with a full 1.5 on the clock. But the clock kept running, and the officials declared the game over. Quote
