1. Calbery Cheaney (It's in Calbert's court as to whether he'd want to come back).
2. Mike Miller (now there's a true top tier recruiter).

Dave Ragland is a name I've seen tossed around along with Jamall Walker. Don't know either. I don't think we need an IU guy but I will reach out to see what some former players who are now coaching think, one in particular. I think Mike Miller left Memphis to become his sons high school coach, so not sure he would be interested.

Mason Miller may not have a high school season. 

If dad went to IU, Mason might be able to join him in January as a red-shirt who practiced with D1 players. Anyway, that's a hope, not an expectation.

David Ragland had a stint as an assistant at Valpo, and for the past two years has been running the offensive scheme for...UTAH St! That's a very good resume.

Jamall Walker just signed on staff at Grand Canyon in April...he was on staff with Sean Miller so the personal connection is there. An older veteran assistant, including with time at Illinois. Seems much much more in the Bruiser Flint mold. Also...he's been a defensive coaching specialist, which is the role Bruiser filled.

I know Trey is planning on doing that. Rather try and get Duncomb and Trey to do a redshirt kid year.  
 

Would Miller be able to walk on for a season then redshirt and get a scholarship the coming year

I'd love to see Cheaney back in the fold.  Really don't expect it to be another IU guy though.

Obviously they will be diligent in their process, but if Dave Ragland wants to come I take him and call it a day.

One former player that has been mentioned, just said that he appreciates that IU fans always think of him for these jobs and it's very flattering but he has no interest.

Ragland went to Evansville Harrison, and apparently is extremely popular and connected in Southern Indiana. Seems like he'd be a great get:

I keep reading (not necessarily here) about Calbert or either A.J. -- Moye or Guyton. Hey, I love those guys and what they did for IU, but I'm not sure they have the coaching chops to take on a position like this. I absolutely love Calbert -- I was at IU when he was there and as you can tell from my avatar, he's my all-time favorite Hoosier. But it just doesn't seem as if his heart is in full-time coaching. We need the best person we can get -- who can develop players during practice, coach and adjust during games and recruit. I just don't think any of those guys fit that bill right now. Let's get the best person available -- regardless if he's an IU guy or not.
