You honestly didn't know Huffpo was left wing? Not a political question. I just thought everyone knew they were left wing like the Federalist Papers are right wing.

I legit didn’t.  I honestly don’t pay enough attention of whom is sponsoring whom to say left or right.  I don’t necessarily read a ton from them so that’s why it wasn’t obvious.  I just across an article that was posting numbers and statements.  I went to Fox News to find out about the 310.  But they weren’t on that 500+ numbers.  I was more curious of with where things stand, if that forced an Alabama to pull out would that effectively cancel the season?  I think it would take an act of Congress for that to happen.  But I would have thought the same with the B1G a couple of weeks ago too.

Hey man I checked Fox News because I figured there would be less dispute for that than others.  The 310 were not a part of the 500+ number on the dashboard per Fox News.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnews.com/us/university-alabama-more-500-coronavirus-cases-wednesday.amp

“The numbers don't include results from the entry testing conducted when the school restarted, which reportedly saw about 310 students test positive. On Monday morning, University of Alabama president Stuart Bell said that the students weren't to blame for the increase in cases.”

Your first sentence is funny.

Wow. Great catch. I really cannot stand when the media does this

What do you think the media did this time?
Sources ranging from HuffPost to Fox said is was over 500 cases in addition to the 310. “Fake News” seems to be a pavlovian response when people don’t like what they read/hear.

The Alabama situation is not surprising as the party scene has been really strong there, in spite of the university president saying the kids are not to blame, for the past few weeks. They staggered dorm move-ins but Greeks and apartment dwellers have been moving in, and hitting parties, since the beginning of August. The good news is that I have not seen any reports of anyone getting real ill. Hopefully it stays that way without impacting staff and professors.

If I am reading their site right, it looks like they started with 310 cases from people who came back to school?

Note, I did ask it as a question because their site wasn't really clear.

Well not necessarily Covid related but 3 NBA games and at least the Brewers vs Reds game are postponed today with more coming.  Crazy time to be alive.

It’s so completely upside down with logic.

The NBA and NFL composition are the truest testimony of where our country stands.

If our “systemic racist” country was as bad as they want you to believe, the NFL and NBA wouldn’t be majority minority.

If anything, it’s proof that if you are the best at what you do, you will be employed and compensated.

I could rant forever, but I’ll save the logic for another day. And no one cares anymore, anyway, everyone just wants to be outraged.

Covid showed them they have tremendous power. And they are tired of playing for an organization that has owners who are outright antagonistic to causes that the majority of players feel strongly about.

People hate socialism and praise capitalism.  Well this is just capitalism in action.  So before you tell them to shut up and play remember that it’s just business.

They are telling the people who enjoy their product that if they still want the product they need to start placing importance on the values they have.  They have the right to refuse service just like other businesses.

They sure do. They also have a right to be replaced and unemployed.

Yeah not going to happen.  Be it basketball, football or any rarified skill.  The best of the best can’t truly be replaced with a significant dip in quality.

Remember the NFL ref strike

It is what it is. Like people saying college basketball can’t survive without one and done talent. Sure it can and would. The NBA, even with a talent dip would be marketable because people will root, root, root for the home team. The engine creates the stars, not the other way around.

People don’t really root for the home team as much when there’s no LeBron or Jordan though.

Would probably benefit college basketball though
