TTT Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Congrats, Arielle in her recent performances including the March Madness Final Four making a positive impact on the game and representing the Indiana Ladies Basketball Program in a positive way. Quote
TTT Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 Point wise T. Moren and the Indiana Ladies came the closest to beating South Carolina at minus -4 in March Madness and only Tennessee all year came closest at -1. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

Artie86 Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Funny, ESPN’s way too early 2024-25 top 25 rankings…. IU not listed anywhere. I know Holmes graduating has something to do with that, but good grief we have almost everyone back. Quote

The younger players did get some significant run last season, though -- so there's reason to be optimistic. Hoping Meister can make a big jump. If she can, we could be pretty good. If not, who knows? Will add 2 from portal probably. We will make a revised top 25 I think. Some good pieces returning. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Stuhoo 1 Quote

I’m not worried. What we do at the 5 is interesting to me. We’ve got 3 starters spots spoken for. I’d say a possibility to add 2 starter types if they decide to go that route vs promote from within. cthomas Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 CTM built this program. No way she doesn't keep building. I think we are on the cusp of being a perennially relevant women's basketball team. I love the way they play the game and for each other. Really looking forward to next year. WayneFleekHoosier, LockdownD and HoosierHoopster 3 Quote

She realizes it’s about Culture, winning, work ethic, and will build accordingly. It’s been a blast. Ultimate faith. I think Wierzba does some major work too. TTT Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Why would IU Ladies be ranked in top 25 at this point in the year? Always competitive, yes. But for championships: Need an inside impact player (6’3” plus that’s healthy), and either or both a sizable mid range player and or a really good guard….and get it all to mesh in playing time. Bargesser has improved and played well. Lilly needs help and can share time. Henna is what she is and a role player. The rest of the bench can play but has a long way to go to be even close to featured players and that goes for the freshmen coming in as well. probably 2 or maybe at most even 3 players that can actually help and share in a big role from transfer portal needed to seriously compete for a big ten championship and going beyond sweet 16. Todd41 Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 I do not hold any stock in way to early lists. NC State was not even on the first poll of the season and were in a similar situation as us at this time last year and they made the final four. The transfer portal and the growth of current and incoming freshmen will be the key to getting back in the top 25. J34, CSP, ALASKA HOOSIER and 2 others 5 Quote
TTT Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Way to early lists do have validity. Yes there are exceptions…you can always point to team or that team circumstances, inaccuracy and roster change, however going with percentages it is a snapshot of who needs to rebuild, reload, or those closest to setting with the strongest teams. I pay zero attention to the Fever but is their roster such that they could draft Mack knowing she won't be available until the following season or do they have an immediate need for her type of player? They drafted Tamika Catchings 3rd overall knowing she wasn't going to play due to a torn ACL. I wondered if Mack might be someone they'd consider because ESPN's projection has them taking a player who plays the same position, is almost the same height and has similar stats. As long as Clark and Boston are good to go, I doubt they'd be too concerned about the bench this season. Demo, thebigweave, Class of '66 Old Fart and 1 other 3 1 Quote
