Can the Hoosiers go dancing?

Have to wonder about the increase to 20 games for the Big Ten and how that affects Bubble teams.   Indiana replaces two B1G games with two easier opponents, we potentially jump from 17-14 to 19-12 and in the dance.

I havent really seen this discussed at all, but that’s a major factor.

I guess everybody is entitled to their opinions -- even if they're just plain wrong.

I saw someone on a IU fan site (not this one) suggest the B1G go back to a full home-and-home schedule against everybody. When people pointed out that would be 26 conference games and would be absolutely insane, he stood his ground.

In a way I like the idea... it would never happen and would mean only a couple "cupcake" games in the non-conference but it would be pretty cool to have the full round-robin.... If it weren't for money I say we kick out Rutgers, Maryland, & Nebraska and then play everyone in the conference twice every year!

If we went back to 11 teams, I'd be all for it ... But if you were to play 26 conference games, that would give you 5-6 nonconference games. Your teams would be totally fried come March.

I wouldn’t be opposed to that at all. Play 26 conference games. Other 4 games are against SEC, ACC, XII and Pac 12 opponents

Again -- your teams would be totally fried by March. They'd be burnt out and have nothing left.

10 most similar resumes to this Indiana team. Interesting stuff out there.

This has to make fans feel good. People too focused on the amount of losses and conference record. I think a win against OSU and there shouldn’t be any reason to sweat and in all honesty I think we get in as an 11 at worst and avoid the play-in game...even possible we could move to the 10 line if things shake out for us.

definitely interesting but there is no way they could figure the NET ranking for those other teams since the ncaa has kept the formula secret to the public. My guess is they replaced the rpi number for their net number

I like our chances so much more now that I learned the Big Ten coaches believe there are 15 players better than Juwan Morgan in the conference.

BEAST MODE, Juwan...BEAST MODE. Take them all down in the BTT.

Juwan Morgan’s statistics (Big Ten Leaders)

9th in points per game at 15.1

6th in field goal % at .553

5th in rebounds per game at 8.4

14th in steals per game at 1.16

7th in blocks per game at 1.55

(-30) in assists per game at 2.0

FIRST TEAM

Cassius Winston (4) PPG, (21) FG%, (-30) RPG, (20) SPG, (-30) BPG, (1) APG

Carsen Edwards (1) PPG, (-30) FG%, (-30) RPG, (3) SPG, (-30) BPG, (12) APG

Ethan Happ (5) PPG, (10) FG%, (3) RPG, (15) SPG, (12) BPG, (3) APG

Bruno Fernando (17) PPG, (1) FG%, (2) RPG, (-30) SPG, (3) BPG, (-30) APG

Lamar Stevens (2) PPG, (-30) FG%, (7) RPG, (-30) SPG, (22) BPG, (-30) APG

SECOND TEAM

Romeo Langford (6) PPG, (27) FG%, (21) RPG, (-30) SPG, (21) BPG, (-30) APG

Ignas Brazdeikis (11) PPG, (22) FG%, (23) RPG, (-30) SPG, (-30) BPG, (-30) APG

Anthony Cowan (8) PPG, (-30) FG%, (-30) RPG, (-30) SPG, (-30) BPG, (4) APG

Jordan Murphy (15) PPG, (18) FG%, (1) RPG, (-30) SPG, (19) BPG, (23) APG

Zavier Simpson (-30) PPG, (-30) FG%, (26) RPG, (4) SPG, (-30) BPG, (2) APG

THIRD TEAM

Jordan Bohannon (-30) PPG, (-30) FG%, (-30) RPG, (-30) SPG, (-30) BPG, (6) APG

Amir Coffey (7) PPG, (-30) FG%, (-30) RPG, (-30) SPG, (-30) BPG, (8) APG

Tyler Cook (11) PPG, (9) FG%, (6) RPG, (-30) SPG, (-30) BPG, (28) APG

James Palmer (3) PPG, (-30) FG%, (-30) RPG, (6) SPG, (-30) BPG, (10) APG

Nick Ward (9) PPG, (4) FG%, (14) RPG, (-30) SPG, (9) BPG, (-30) APG

I will say it again on this thread...Jordan Bohannon? Really?  He had 1.4 more assists per game than Juwan.  Outside of that...?

Compare Langford's stats to those of Brazdeikis (who won Freshman of the Year).

And merely from a stat line one might question whether Happ deserved BTPOY over Winston.

But, all I'm arguing is that the coaches felt there are 15 better all-around players than Morgan.

How does Juwan get honorable mention I don't get it.

Maybe they were foreshadowing his performance in the B1G tournament

Even with foreshadowing, was Jordan Bohannon's performance in the Big Ten Tournament yesterday so remarkable that the coaches had to overlook the fact Juwan Morgan was statistically far better and more valuable throughout the rest of the season?  Bohannon had 8 points, 0 rebounds, and 5 assists yesterday.  Juwan had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist...he was nearing a double double while completely out-sized at his position.  You're entitled to your opinion.  My opinion...regardless of Juwan's performance yesterday, he and others deserved third team before Bohannon.
