He just might be since the final score was a TD and an extra point for a 7-0 win. Hoosiers 27 shots, 15 on goal and 14 corners. Hanover held to a single shot and 0 corners. Collins Oduro with a hat trick in the 1st half and a 4th goal in the 2nd half as the Hoosiers celebrated Senior Night. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Cool for Oduru. His minutes are cut back this season despite being what I’ve seen as a top 3 player his career. Him being a super sub is a big reason this years team is so dangerous. the other senior storyline is Breckin Minzey. I believe he played about every minute last season. This season we start and play heavily 4 backs. Minzey gets very limited time. Quote

Brass Cannon Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Getting dominated on SOG. How we have one SOG with 7 corners is disappointing. Quote

Brass Cannon Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Incredibly disappointing result. Team is so capable but just doesn’t seem to have the killer instinct to play at a consistent level. Quote
BtownStrength Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Disappointing L. Rutgers absolutely clamped us, and our lack of a dominant striker finally came around. Aaron and Napleshoosier 2 Quote
Aaron Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I hate these games in the pouring rain that can lead to these results as the wet field and moisture coming down leads to all kinds of weird results for the less talented team which is certainly Rutgers. It wasn't the Hoosiers best night but the price of playing in weather like that leads to this somewhat. The Scarlet Knights absolutely pass the eye test as a first round tourney bubble team. That's enough on a night like tonight to knock off an elite team in terrible weather. As for IU, was really hoping this team was 2107 and 2018 good but look much more 2019 to 2023 good. The defense is definitely vastly improved from previous two seasons and Mroz gives you best goalie since Celentano. However, as good as the Hoosiers' D is, it still will give up a goal nearly each game but never more. The question is if Indiana can create at least two goals on a given night and usually they can but not guaranteed. When it relies on Njike setting others up and Easton Bogard at your striker spot, who is solid but not bona fide scorer, you won't always put up huge numbers but usually can. This squad still has more than enough for a top 8-12 seed and could well be in College Cup. However, they could also have an off night offensively and lose 1-0 in Sweet 16 like tonight or fall in a tough Elite 8 game at someone like Georgetown or Clemson in a heavy weight battle. Losing to a top-30 squad on road only cost team two spots in RPI and they remain inside top-10. Key is getting that second home game in tourney and if really lucky a third. Next two are cannot lose against teams well outside top 50 in RPI before two matchups against powers UCLA and MSU inside top 20 and will decide conference title. Everything still in play and tonight only a minor ding resume wise. Its more not repeating it in tourney against a squad very similar in talent to Rutgers and hopefully in better weather. You used the one mulligan you had both RPI and conference championship wise tonight and lost margin for error. However, everything is still possible if this is it on defeats. 8bucks and BtownStrength 2 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Bummer of a game but not a surprise. Njike had a really rough game. Heavy on the touch. Overdribbled at times. OMJ didn’t start the second half. Not sure what was up with that. I think we need more Uduru, and more of the Freshman from the Dream program. Both hustle and challenge offensively. Not worried. Really like this team, but this isn’t the first game we have started and played a lackadaisical half. Quote
IUHoosierJoe Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Rutgers is much better than their record indicates. Not sure if our guys overlooked them, but I thought Rutgers was good enough to get us if we didn’t play well. BtownStrength 1 Quote
