LamarCheeks Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Terrible news about our last NCAA championship team. 1987 was my freshman year. I can remember that season game-by-game. ... I guess he had a heart attack. Was only 52 -- way, way, way too young. ... A true Hoosier legend. ThompsonHoosier, mamasa, HoosierHoops1 and 9 others 5 7 Quote

Popular Post Chris007 Posted March 28, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 28, 2018 I have many fond memories of that 87 team. Daryl would always get you 10-14 points and 5-8 rebounds. Had a great tourney in that championship run. He was so nice at the banquet and signed so many autographs. I'm not sure many players could have taken the coaching or abuse he got from Coach Knight. Tom White Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Cryin' shame. Always seemed like one of the good guys. Too soon. Way too soon. Class of '66 Old Fart, ALASKA HOOSIER and HoosierHoops1 3 Quote
mookied39 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Right before the last play against Syracuse I asked my dad, what if they don't score. He looked me right in the eye and said....they are going to score. When I saw the play develop and Keith flash open because of Daryl Thomas.....I knew he was going to make that shot....and the rest is HISTORY. A very sad morning. RIP DT.
