I don't think we could beat Duke playing five on three. I like the way we played in the second half, especially on the defensive end. But still, the level of competition wasn't great. While I like watching games, I really think CM needs more practice time.

How do you play 17 minutes and not commit a foul? Probably by not playing much defense. Is active hands count like deflections? Not sloppy with the ball because he doesn't have it much. Except shooting air balls. Sorry, I think he adds 0 intangibles to what this team really needs. Unless he is shooting well.

Hey, I’ve been really hard on CuJo this year until tonight. He wasn’t especially confident tonight, but let’s compare his “guard stats” (assists +steals- turnovers) tonight to DGreen and Newkirk:
CuJo: +2
DGreen: -3
Josh: +2

None of those guys shot it well, and CuJo defended far far better than the other two tonight. It is fairly obvious that RoJo and Al are our two best guards; tonight CuJo was the third best.

The few times teams have full court pressed us I have liked the way we have handled it.

Funny how that works when you have a coach who was a point guard at this level and knows how to fundamentally break it down as opposed to someone who didn't even play in high school and whose only strategy is to out-run it.

Just now getting to watch. Good T for Archie! Loves coach who gets angry !!!!

I loved it! As someone who grew up in the Knight era —I appreciate a good T from time to time! My first thought was —Archie—don’t apologize for it —we’ve been waiting for years for a Coach to show some fire! And afterwards how did we play? Just sayin!

Grew up watching knight as well, it's about damn time we got a coach that can light a fire! I really liked how the crowd reacted as well!

Believe me, my optimism has been subdued. I just have a good feeling about that game. Prime time in the Hall is an intense atmosphere

We better put together a complete 40 minutes and pray that their freshman get rattled in what may be the loudest game in college basketball this season.  That's our only chance.

Honestly though that is exactly the kind of game Tom Crean would win and win quite handily.  The problem as we all know is that we'd get a rematch with Duke in the S16 if we made the tourney, and in that game, the one that actually matters, we would get absolutely boat raced.

Agreed he was our third best guard tonight but that's not saying much. Green makes some awful turnovers and has terrible shot selection. Newkirk has been mostly bad his Indiana career except for last year's stretch run in the B1G. There's a reason he wasn't valued at Pitt. I could see Cujo get minutes if he's hitting threes but air balls and 1-4 nights won't get him many.

I don’t think it’s a surprise turnaround at all to Rebel’s point. And to your point, I think IU gets two of those games. Duke goes down in the Hall

Hoosier Guy —I love your optimism. There was a time during the dark days of IU basketball in years past where I felt I had to post positive and optimistic things all the time to keep myself and others from cliff-diving! Then you came along and helped lighten the load. I love your outlook and opinions and am pleased that you have let me go into semi-retirement! I still pop in and post from time to time but I now know BTown is in good hands with your positivity. I think you might be my brother from another mother! And—I for one agree with you that we are going to give Duke everything they want and then some when they come into our house—The Hall!

Not gonna get too excited yet, but that second half was definitely a sign of progress..

At this point Durham is clearly our 2nd best guard and I expect him to supplant Newkirk in the line-up. Let's trust CAM and the staff to review the tape and show it to the guys, because that first half to second half is a perfect example of what they're doing wrong, and then how to fix it. Need to continue to make improvements before that Duke game.

Lot to be excited about that second 20 minutes of basketball. If IU can figure out a way to play 40 minutes of basketball like that, and I️ think they will, they’ll be a in the conversation for a bid come march. I’ve seen more passion and fire on the sidelines from Arch than I️ have seen in the last 10 years. You guys got a good one. This can still be a special season if he can get all the guys to really buy in. Defense needs to be this teams calling card.
