But Lemonis is nowhere close to Smith as far as coaching is concerned. Lemonis just like Allen had no head coaching experience before taking the job. Well if it makes you feel any better, Tracy Smith will probably be on the market next summer. TXHoosierDaddy, mdn82 and thebigweave 3 Quote

The defense/special teams just didn't bring it. Special teams were turrble! Lost 7 points to a blocked punt returned for a TD. Two kickoffs out of bounds. Shanked punts giving great field position. Blocked EXTRA-FREAKING-POINTBlocked FG (?) How many points is that? AND we lost by 3?! Edit: a long kickoff return that setup another TD. Our defense wasn't great in this game but when your special teams and offense set you up for failure it's hard to win. It'll be nice to see a full game where the pieces complement each other. We usually have one aspect of the game completely **** us. Yesterday, it was special teams, AGAIN. The AD wants to keep his job. 22-12 is not how how you do that at Florida on your hire. This was his way out. It bought him another hire. Yes, bad with the talent. There are a number of stories out there but the bottom line is there was some type of falling out with the AD/athletic dept. Muschamp got 4 years at Florida and was a much bigger disaster than Mcelwain was. They also had the #11 recruiting class this yr and #7 for 2018. Maybe he wasn't Urban Meyer at UF but half of a bad season isn't the reason they are going in another direction here. Quote

Look, you are an IU fan right. Were you ok with periodic B1G titles and Sweet 16? Winning a division for Florida isn't even winning conference. After 3 years they weren't scoring points and he was an offensive coach. They were playing worse. Not sure why we have to go digging for the grassy knoll on this one. It just isn't there. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Yep and Crean kept getting chance after chance so it's quite the opposite at UF. 9 seasons vs 2.5 seasons. And Mcelwain won the East in his first two years, which wasn't happening too often there when Muschamp took over. That's like Crean finishing in the top 2 or 3 in the BIG, which according to this brass would have been seen as a huge success. Quote
