JSHoosier Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Lagow took a knee. Okay, he can do that I just don't want to see him drop back to pass. Iugradman and Hoosierfan2017 2 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 In Lagow's defense, he did a helluva job on that kneel down to end the half. Hoosierfan2017 and Iugradman 2 Quote

Ramsey has things he needs to improve on because he's a freshman, Lagow is experienced and plays like a freshman. He has a good enough arm to not be a liability throwing the football. He seems to have good decision making. His legs open up the running game. He's shown enough to make me believe that his success against Virginia wasn't just the result of the team not game planning for him. At the very worst him and Lagow are equal quarterbacks, all things considered. I see no reason for him not to be qb1 moving forward. mdn82 and Iugradman 2 Quote

We throw it with him 20-25 times with half being RPO we will be fine.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Hoosierfan2017 1 Quote

Ramsey isn't going to carry a team with his arm, at least right now, but Lagow can't either. Hell, I don't even like these so called "dual threat" QBs, and I'd still take Ramsey over Lagow. Quote

If we can run the ball effectively and keep him at 20-25 passes a game we'll be good. Ellison is looking like he's ready to be the feature back right now. I say hand the two of them the keys and let em loose. It gives us our best shot both now and in the future. mdn82 1 Quote
cthomas Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 My worry with Ramsey is the beating he takes when he runs. I know Allen prefers a running quarterback but I would rather have a mobile pocket quarterback who can extend plays with his legs. Quote
DChoosier Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 He did use very good form when he took the knee. A fundamentally sound kneel down. Kudos to the team for settling down after a comically bad start. Good to see they did not go in the tank. ALASKA HOOSIER and rebelhoosier848891 2 Quote

With Ramsey we can run a ground and pound offense that keeps our defense off the field. Ramsey's a "dual threat" qb but I like that his first instinct doesn't seem to be to tuck the ball and run. If he can just be a game manager for us this year it's still better than what we get with Lagow. CR3AMnCR1MS0N and Iugradman 2 Quote

Of course it's best to limit the number of hits he takes as much as possible, but I'm not toooo worried about it. Quote

If the offense could sustain some drives that'd help the defense get rested, the defense spends too much time on the field. Ramsey seems to look to pass first, which is good, although I could do with fewer designed QB runs but that's on the play calling not the player. Hoosierfan2017, mdn82 and CR3AMnCR1MS0N 3 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 They fought hard that second quarter. I'd like to see a strong drive led by Ramsey to open the second half. If we put points on the board to start we have a chance! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
