Brass Cannon Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Even if Schilling was involved we could probably just fire him and get off easy. He hasn't landed anybody yet luckily. Quote
mdn82 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Whoa, UL signed a $160 million extension right after they got Bowen to flip. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners VO5, Hoosierfan2017, thebigweave and 3 others 6 Quote

HooHooHoo22 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 That's been going on since the 80's when shoe sponsors started making money. There is a reason an Adidas kid stays with Nike or vice versa. You have been marketing it for years. You have talked to reps for years if you are good. You are are making money if you want. Easy to funnel money through non profits and get a tax write off for your troubles. Other ways of course, but this is the way of the handler.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appThanks for helping me understand a little more Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app mdn82 1 Quote

IMO it will never be 100% clean as long as the OAD rule is in place. You will still have high stake recruiting for results changing talent. This will for sure scare a few.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Class of '66 Old Fart and Naturalhoosier 2 Quote

As time passes and this case becomes history, if all else stays constant, it'll be back to square one....My guess, in the next 5-7 years. Josh 1 Quote

My theory is The shoe company’s pay these players or guarantee these players money for going to certain schools. That’s why players like cliff Alexander leave when they’re not ready, because they’re guaranteed money once entering the NBA. I know Nike does it with Kentucky Basketball. They guarantee players money right after they leave there Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners I've suspected this for quite a while. It never has made sense to me how beholden some players are to certain brands and schools. Just too many instances of players making abrupt commitments to BIG name programs. As for our program, I recall Crean making vague comments about not playing certain 'games' in the recruiting process - I suspect he didn't go in for these shenanigans and was angry because we lost out to others that did. mdn82 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I am very curious of the deals that come out of this to keep people out of jail. Wonder who else gets arrested.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
MoyeNeeded Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Well guys, our chances for Romeo are looking good now. Looks like UofL caught red handed buying Brian Bowen. Sad thing though it looks like Kenny Johnson was the coach from UofL that was caught. If SlickRick didn't know about hookergate...he surely was aware this was going on. HooHooHoo22 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 This is just all around crazy. It would be great if Louisville and Vandy are both part of it so we could get garland and Langford [emoji4][emoji4]Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Plus the assistant stated on wire tap they had to keep it on the down low due to them being on probation. Slick Rick is done. Banksyrules Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'm confused. Is there specifics mention of Louisville? I know they arrested 10 but are there more to follow? Quote
