Trish Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I believe our old friend Kenny Johnson may be in on this. Perhaps why Crean got rid of him or he "moved" on? Tom White 1 Quote

hoosierpap Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'd be a little worried. Heard some things back in the day about a particular class...anyone know the span of this investigation? Crean and Co. was for the most part clean from all I've heard. And I don't think they paid like that or anything but... bmrin1 1 Quote

Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted September 26, 2017 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2017 Maybe, just maybe, it's why we didn't land certain recruits under FCTC because he wouldn't play that game. Just a thought. WayneFleekHoosier, Stromboli, Hutch89 and 7 others 10 Quote

And I don't think they paid like that or anything but... I could see it, but this investigation began in 2015. The undercover activity and recording authority probably not until 2016. Kenny Johnson left IUBB in April of 2014. Doesn't mean that Kenny isn't in big trouble, but from a statutory charging standpoint, his time with IUBB is probably off-limits. Could he tell a cooperation narrative of payments to Vonleh, Stan, or Troy from way back when? I guess so, but even that might never see the light of day. And that's if he was charged, pled, cooperated, and that unrecorded, historical narrative was released, which it probably wouldn't be. hoosierpap and mamasa 2 Quote

Naturalhoosier Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Pulled from the ESPN report: Other people named in the documents include James Gatto, director of global sports marketing at Adidas; Merl Code, who recently left Nike for Adidas; Christian Dawkins, an NBA agent who was fired in May from ASM Sports for charging approximately $42,000 in Uber charges on a player's credit card; Jonathan Brad Augustine, president of The League Initiative and program director of the Adidas-sponsored 1 Family AAU program; Munish Sood, a financial adviser; and Rashan Michel, a former NBA official who founded Thompson Bespoke Clothing, a custom clothier for athletes. Court documents state that Gatto, Code, Dawkins, Augustine and Sood were "making and concealing bribe payments to high school student-athletes and/or their families in exchange for, among the other things, the student-athletes' commitment to play basketball for University-6 and University-7, thereby causing the universities to provide athletic scholarships to student-athletes who, in truth and in fact, were ineligible to compete as a result of the bribe payments." Nothing earth shattering...just a quick recap. Stuhoo, BornAHoosierFan and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
