For what it's worth.. I know absolutely nothing about the situation. However, I do know someone who has connections in southern Indiana basketball, big time connections, and the main reason he stayed at NA was because he wanted to be Mr Basketball. If that's true, Archie is selling exactly what he needs to be selling.

I think the thing we should point to is Eric Gordon, IU fans will never forget him despite his team winning nothing.

Oh please let it be. What would be more amazing would be if he could pull it off before spring.

Romeo commits to IU, tears up his senior season, win Mr. BB, then enters IU with all the glory.

Saw an interview recently that he was mad he dropped to 5-7 in rankings because he feels like he is the best. I love that swagger and confidence.

I went to WLKY's website to see if they had a podcast of his "special". When I did a search for his name, this is all that came up:

Romeo Langford among finalists for Calipari's U19 World Cup team

Anyone think this might give UK a bit more of a chance with him?

We down hur in 'tucky think that Romeo feller shoud come here to Kentucky universite to get him a little schoolin but to play round ball and make sum money.. I mean get an edumcaion!!!

Langford’s recruitment has been the most entertaining since Patrick Patterson/Jai Lucas. Living in the middle of UK/IU/UofL country, the country’s top-ranked wing from New Albany, Indiana has created a buzz the area hasn’t seen in years. Now everybody knows somebody that knows somebody that knows sumthin’ bout (h/t Trick Daddy).

Amidst all of the buzz there were two schools that stood out early in the process: Duke and Kentucky, with the Blue Devils receiving a slight edge. Now, neither school is a serious contender, especially Duke. After a game at the Adidas Gauntlet Finale in Spartanburg, Langford said he is no longer communicating with Duke.

The Duke vacancy isn’t an opportunity for Calipari. Even though many believed coaching Team USA in Egypt would be nothing but a positive for Coach Cal, that’s not the case with Langford. Even if he wasn’t limited by back spasms, Langford still wasn’t going to be a star for that team, forced to take a backseat to another UK recruit.

Langford’s recruitment will be a circus for the next nine months. His recent, sudden change could reverse course later in the process, but it’s doubtful to turn toward UK following his Team USA experience. Indiana and Texas were two prominent names to watch, two places where Langford can be the show

I live in New Albany and have a Louisville fan friend that interacts with the family. When I read on this board that it is down to IU and UofL, I asked him if he has heard anything about that. He said "Yes. That's all I can say about it." I know recruiting can be very fluid but just a little more smoke on being two team race for Romeo.

Just get this vibe it is going to be a Cody Zeller like recruitment playing out. Everyone assumed UNC. Then if not UNC then maybe Butler because of Stevens. Not until the OV's were we really considered to have a strong chance. Just get that vibe where we are strong but being underestimated.

 

Edit: I am not giving proclamations we are getting him, but feel we are stronger than what we are given credit for at this point.
