But only if we can all agree which one is ours. Unless it's a game in the morning. Then, winners get a doughnut. With sprinkles. Good coaches make sure every doughnut has sprinkles. So there. I'm talking about the excessive parents, everyone has seen the dad chewing out the ump or coach from behind the fence because little timmy was called out or isn't being played the way he wants him to be. Its probably not going to be bad this year, but it will happen later down the road. In our league the first year (4 y.o.), there is no score, no wins, or losses, basically its just a familiarization for the little ones. Next year they will have a pitching machine and keep score and such. I have already seen one parent this year criticize the head coach. I wanted to say something then but figured I would let the coach handle it. Quote

I wanted to say something then but figured I would let the coach handle it. I coached a few years of High School baseball, and one thing I will never do is coach little kids. The parents are 1,000 times worse at that age. Granted most of the kids I coached were only a couple years younger than me so they knew better than to try the stuff they would on an older coach, but I also made it clear that if a parent didnt like what I was doing they could take their son home(no parent took me up on that offer) I was an assistant but the head coach was only the head coach because he was a teacher and the previous HC quit in the middle of the season and he didnt want the kids season to end. After his first year he stayed on as HC but let me and a couple other former players run things. One story I did have was a kid who was about 4-5 yrs younger than I was and he had a bad attitude and always wanted to fight/defy authority. He honestly had a rough upbringing, I was later told his dad beat on him and called him every name in the book and just walked out one day. Well one day I kicked him off the field and after practice went back and dragged him back on it and he and I had a long heart to heart followed by a lot of running. I told him that I will be on his ass every day whether it was at school or at practice and he didnt have the option to quit, but I also told him I would always be the first one there to support him if he ever needed it. One day another coach called him a worthless piece of shit because he did a take out slide trying to break up a double play and that coach and I went nose to nose over it, and after it happened I grabbed that kid and gave him a big hug because he was crying. I came to find out later that he wasnt crying because his feelings were hurt he was crying because no one ever stood up for him before. I told him that I may be an asshole but I will always be there if he needed anything. Now many years later that same kid is in the military and about to be married. The day he graduated boot camp he called me and just said thank you. Kids like that makes it all worth it. Tom White, HooHooHoo22, hsrtxp and 12 others 15 Quote

Then it's the others teams turn. Each game lasts an hour. If your area plays the same way and there are still parents who do that, they should be banned. ;)Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Quote

Now I don't want to be hyper competitive but at least have them playing the actual rules. Quote

The coach will pitch first and if no hits they will put it on the tee for kids. No prouder feeling as a parent for me last year then when my 4 year old hit off the coach for a hit and ran to first and jumped up and down on bag while looking at me repeatedly saying I did dad. Also Alabama's Braxton Key will declare for the 2017 NBA Draft, but won't sign with an agent, per release.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Class of '66 Old Fart, woodenshoemanHoosierfan, HOOsier Thunder and 1 other 4 Quote

My friends son is in what they call minor league and in that league I have seen it. The only incident in my son's league was the incident with the coach the other day, but like I said the father hasn't been back since then. If one of the parent's were to act out like a petulant child at one of our games, I will gladly drag their a$$ back to their vehicle and ban them myself. My neighbor is the president of the t-ball league, I don't think I would have too much trouble in removing a$$holes from the game, lol. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

One was his coach. Everytime someone made a mistake he would go off on him, especially his son. After the second game I had enough and had a long talk with him after the game. He softened up after that.Sent from my SM-T377V using Tapatalk Quote
