It was thought for a few years that Pitino was ready to retire. Now with the NCAA report coming out saying Pitino was indeed responsible for overseeing every aspect of the recruiting scandal, it is HIGHLY LIKELY that Pitino will receive a substantial suspension and possibly a revocation of their last championship. This could push Pitino to a retirement thus moving Donovan into position to take over the coaching job there. I will tell you this...if it is between us and UofL, we will not come out on top. Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Wait, I thought the word was Richard would replace Rick.It is. That is if Richard can keep up years like this past one. 2 or 3 more and U of L fans are probably okay with it. I have also heard other guys as well. Brass Cannon Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Normally I would say Pitino would want Donovan to take over for him because they are friends, but I think he wants his son to do it and they will probably give him a Chance Quote
Scooter D Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 The only reason anyone wants to go to Louisville is for the Derby...and no other reason. I've been pushing Billy D on this site since November 2014 and i am not giving up hope. ThompsonHoosier 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 (edited) While I was all for it, I always had trouble grasping the Donovan-to-Indiana thing. Maybe it'll still happen, but I still just don't see it. I have to admit, I drank the Kool-Aid for a while there. ... But Andy Katz and the Thunder beat writer from the Oklahoma City paper refuted it. To me, those are more credible sources than just about anybody who said Donovan was in B-town (and I'm not a fan of Katz). ... Somehow, we all got hoodwinked! LostInLouisville Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 The Yum Center is awesome I will give you that, but that city....Really? I hate the Yum Center. It's like a crappy NBA arena. It ridiculously difficult to get in and out of (both the building and aisles) and it has no atmosphere. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

MoyeNeeded Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 And if that happens Billy would be coming in with sanctions. Not an ideal situation. My guess Pitino has 3 or 4 years left in him at least. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile appAbsolutely not. UofL self imposed sanctions last season will satisfy the NCAA. But Pitino is another fish all together. Look Pitino is close to retirement I live down here and it is a major topic at the end of every season. Pitino serves out his suspension next season and that will clear the way for Donovan the year after. This will also allow Donovan to see what Westbrook's intentions are. Young Pitino is NOT an option for quite a while. Louisville fanbase would not allow this. They have already lived through one Pitino soiling their image. Jurich is very loyal and has stuck with Rick, but will look elsewhere for a replacement. Like it or not, Rick Pitino is the wild card in all of this. If he has indicated to Donovan that he may be ready to go..all bets off with Donovan.Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
