Thats a big if though about him playing here. Any other candidate that came through IU if they were clean and were top notch coach he would probably be my first choice behind only Brad and maybe Billy D depending on his success. The IU thing is huge IMO but Alford has to many red flags and is dangerously in Calipari territory now. UK runs itself now so Cal has quieted the talk but seems like Alford is winning to pick it up for him.

That's my point. Had he not played for IU,those red flags would be a deterrent for those who support him now.

Would Alford really be an upgrade from Crean. I really don't think so. I actually think Crean is every bit as good of a coach as Alford is.

Alford had 3 stars at iowa and NM. If Alford has a deep NCAA tourney run this year, my opinion will change. He would lock down the state recruiting wise, regardless of he's perceived coaching ability.

Those who want Marshall, I worry about recruiting with him

If Alford has a deep run this year it will be because Lonzo Ball is playing the one hit wonder role that Dwayne Wade once played for Crean.

On TOS, mile is saying he's getting info that Alford is no longer under consideration for the job.

Yep. Alford was never gonna be the coach but still reassuring to hear that he's definitely been eliminated from the conversation

I'm still scared that Glass will hire Wittman or Woodson.

Woodson said he would answer if called but havent seen Wittman comment on it. Both had good years in the NBA but once their style was more known teams adjusted and they struggled. Would love either on the coaching staff just not the Head Coach.

I'd certainly be pleased for FG to get input from Woodie and Randy.  Both have an abundance of basketball knowledge and experience.  Since neither has been part of a college staff (and had to deal with recruiting), I don't believe they'd be candidates for the HC job.  I'd guess they're both quite comfortable financially, so they wouldn't likely want to be assistant coaches at any level at this time in their lives.  But it sure would be sweet if they could be involved with the program and impart some of their collected wisdom on our players.

We know for sure we don't know who is coaching IU yet. We don't need an IU GUY! We need a young, cerebral tactician with a proven record of winning. Offer Brad Stevens  $5 million + incentives and reap the rewards from national branding and marketing once the National Championships start rolling in.

Woodson is an assistant coach right now. I don't think he'd mind helping out Indiana but I wouldn't want him as head coach.

Brad has already pulled himself out of the running. Never going to happen.
