Tak42 Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I like the fact he addressed each reporter after they introduced themselves to him by their name. Respect you earn it. Welcome coach Miller.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER, Leo, Me So Hornsby and 2 others 5 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Anyone up waiting for this interview on ESPN?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersHe smiled, a few times. Just reiterated what he said in his presser. If you don't want to be in the neighborhood don't come here when asked if he can meet the lofty expectations at IU. IU Hoosier41 Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I think we might need to start a Smile Count thread. Just list the dates we have evidence he smiled lolSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners thebigweave, BtownBanner6, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote
KYHoosier Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I thought all around this presser was about as good as I could have imagined. The part I enjoyed the most was his plan to get IU basketball more involved at all levels of Indiana basketball, from high school to the grass routes level. I think the AAU and high school coaches get so sick of the lip service and what-can-you-do-for-me-now attitude that I feel like Crean had. If he builds genuine relationships I think this will go a long way in helping him build his reputation around the state and with landing the elite talent around the state. Not sure if it's NCAA legal, but an interesting move he could make is do satellite camps around the state on Indiana much like Harbaugh does around the country. Could be a great way to accelerate recruiting and unite the state. As each day passes, I get more and more excited at the thought of Coach Archie Miller at IU. ALASKA HOOSIER and thebigweave 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I apologize in advance if this article from Terry Hutchens has already been posted on btb. Admittedly a small sample and he could pick which players to quote but I think it does demonstrate that not every former player was hung up on it being Alford or an IU guy. Former IU players react to hiring of Archie Miller http://www.heraldbulletin.com/sports/former-iu-players-react-to-hiring-of-archie-miller/article_490ea87a-1352-11e7-bf98-ef84b722728e.html ThompsonHoosier, Jeff_Boy_Ardee, HoosierAlex and 2 others 5 Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Love it. Pat Graham, AJ Guyton and Steve Risley know what's up. All of them explaining Archie's attributes and what he brings to the game of basketball. And as AJ said, IU now has a coach that played PG on the collegiate level and knows what to expect. That's gonna be one of the biggest (and best) differences with ArchieSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

I grew up and live in Illinois. That Rivalry is intense, but in Central Illinois there are a lot of "mixed" families. I grew up in one. My mom was a Cubs fan. Her side of family are all Cuba fans. My dad was a Cardinal fan. His side were all Cardinal fans. They had 6 kids. 3became Cuba fans and 3 became Cuba fans. I actually cheered for Cubs in WS in memory of my mom.Sent from my SM-T377V using Tapatalk Trish 1 Quote

Popular Post Hoosier Guy Posted March 28, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 28, 2017 Yep I'm way past Donovan. Honestly, the more I think about it, the more that I think Archie is a better get than Donovan. One, Archie is young and has time on his side. Two, being from the Midwest, he gets IU. And three, potential through the roofSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Jeff_Boy_Ardee, dallas44, coonhounds and 9 others 12 Quote
