Albers put his career on the line yesterday... it's a bold move, cotton... kind of relieved to see Alford say he's 100% not going to IU. Does make me wonder who is IU's top 5 right now.

I still think what alford says means nothing. He signed a contract extension at nm and left for ucla 3 days later

I am "let's get an Indiana guy" guy, but hiring Woodson (or Wittman) for that matter would be a mistake.

Glass was gonna wait until UCLA lost, plain and simple. Whether you liked it or not, IMO that has been the plan all along. Reading between the lines, he wanted Alford.

Now, if I read posts of a cousin of a friend knows a guy that makes real estate signs says this guy at Yogis said that Billy Donovan's ex sister in laws best friend is in town scouting houses, I might tend to believe it more.

Lets the the games begin!

Collins is another guy along with White NBA guys want. Orlando is planning on talking to both.

Wait a minute. Is Orlando rumored to be getting rid of Vogel already?

He is a decent coach and they have a terrible roster.

I posted this earlier.  I like to try to quantify things with statistical analysis.  These are the rankings of coaches over the last 7 years.  I used SOS, win%, Pt Differential, and then added a tournament accomplishment component, double weighting tourney results.  I tried to make it out of 100, and when I ran the 1976 perfect season through the metric it scored a 100.28.  What the hell else am I going to do while I am waiting for more information on the coaching search?

Surprised Alford is not on the bottom of the list.

Wish List:

1) Billy Donovan - obvious homerun, proven winner, solid recruiter, cultural fit
2) Tony Bennett - has only overachieved at underachieving programs, concerned that his offensive style may not be the style that wins championships despite the strong efficiency ratings
3) Mike White - so impressed with his tournament, strong efficiency ratings at Louisiana Tech and now Florida, might be the most interesting young coach in the game even more than Archie/Holtmann
4) Gregg Marshall - not excited by him, but would get Indiana to the tournament every year and give us a punchers chance
5) Archie Miller - young exciting coach, solid efficiency ratings that have improved each year at Dayton

I'm actually not sold on really anyone else, and don't think Sean Miller would budge (replace Marshall with Miller if you think he's even possible).

Bennett and Romeo might not be the heros IU fans deserve, but they might the heroes IU fans need right now.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm not getting this: Who or what is Romeo?

Thank god Alford isn't coming.

That being said, we would have our new coach by if it was Miller. Marshall, Bennett...

It's gotta be Billy....

Unless they were waiting for a yes or no from Donovan before moving on.

I can't shake the feeling that it could be someone not mentioned.  Parker tries to keep everything quiet and last two hires were out of left field.
