Also, he and Mark Smith just gave each other shout outs on Instagram. Too bad we're out of scholarships.

That's exactly what kind of player I want to see rocking the candy stripes. I didn't know he was a point guard though, I thought he was a 2.

He's really a combo guard, but he says he wants to be a PG. I hope he develops, because we could really use a PG.

I think in high school, when you're the best player on your team, the ball is generally just in your hands.  He definitely falls into the "combo guard" bucket that Crean filled up.  That said, I watched a bunch of his videos for this purpose.  He does have a nasty bounce pass he uses in transition, and his ball handling is excellent.  When you watch him, he definitely works to draw the defense with him to get a man open.  And he's fast and long enough with his drives to keep the defense honest.

Ahh okay, yeah I figured he was in the combo guard mold. That's great if he's wanting to be a point guard though. He has nice size and we desperately need someone to be able to step into that role.

Might be a year or two away physically, but the long term potential for Clifton Moore is pretty considerable. Long, fluid and skilled.

The potential/ceiling for Clifton Moore is immense. Still needs polish and refinement, but long-term prospectus is very strong. 6-10.

Indiana signee Clifton Moore is still waiting for his release. Met with Archie Miller last week. Indiana is still a legitimate option.

 

Moore plans on talking to Archie again this weekend. He also said "I don't know yet" when I asked if he still wanted the release.

Don't we have to assume Archie has a pretty good idea that among the 12 current players on roster, at least two more will be leaving? Otherwise, why continue to go after Moore? If he knew, or had a really good guess, that only one more were leaving, wouldn't he just grant Moore his release? Because right now, Smith and Durham are coming in and OG is leaving. That leaves us over by one. And if Moore sticks, we'll be over by two (that's assuming RoJo, JBJ and TB come back, although it seems unlikely all three will). I'm guessing he doesn't want to, in his first few months on the job, have to go up to a current player (or two) and say, "Sorry. We won't have a scholarship for you next season."
