My mistake.. thought I read somewhere where it was down to IU gtown and Kansas

Same, just assumed with the official visit schedule and no mention of UK recently. Hopefully he knows UK sees him as a backup option while he is IU's numero uno

Exactly, that's what I'm hoping too.  He'd get recruited over very quickly at UK.

But he won't be starting at IU next year though, so it's not like we can offer him that much more immediate playing time than UK would.  I guess it's all about 2018 for Waters then, hopefully he knows he'd probably get recruited over by some 5 star PG he doesn't know about yet.

I ventured over to the UK boards, and he's getting no attention at all there, and most are saying how it makes sense to recruit a backup PG like Waters.

In a sense so are we if we are saying there is no way he starts next year. I don't necessarily believe that through attrition.

Will he start over senior Newkirk and senior Rojo. My guess is he doesn't start either but it depends on seeing Newkirk this season. 3 guard lineups etc. Cujo and Green in the mix as well. Durham way back on depth chart. That's why I didn't initially think a PG was a prime need for next season but if you can get Waters, you get him. Let him play his way up the depth chart.

Scruggs said he was told he would be starting. Waters is a better true point guard right now. It appears possible Waters could start at IU next year.

There's so many question marks with guards next season.
- does JBJ return
- how does JN fit
- does RoJo fit at point
- does RoJo want to play point
- what guard transfers
- do we see 5 guards on the floor at once

They're saying it as in a permanent backup PG. They expect to get Young this year, another 5 star the next year, etc.

Whereas at IU, he'd all but be guaranteed to be the starting PG his sophomore year.

Unless CuJo balls out this year, I would assume RoJo would move back to SG for his senior year (assuming JBJ leaves), which would mean either Newkirk or Waters could run the point. Unless of course Rob flourishes at pg this year.

That's what I'm saying "X should happen but y is completely plausible because we just don't know."
