Brass Cannon Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Billy D is my choice other than Stevens. He seemed to like College ball more than Stevens just seemed like he got tired of being third tier at Florida. Walking Boot of Doom 1 Quote

That Syracuse game was such a coaching debacle. You are correct zeller never took a jump shot and now he has bryant running around on the three point line. Bizarre. Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk His 'preparation' for that game was a special level of horrendous, that team was so comically unprepared for the game. It was so bad he'd have more of an excuse if he didn't do any preparation for it. He's not an incompetent coach, but he sure looked like it that time. The offense didn't do a thing to create an open look, just stood around and slowly reversed the ball; the only chance they had of getting a look was Syracuse getting lost on the way to the game. recker222000 1 Quote
hsrtxp Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 1. Stevens--obviously! 2. Holtmann--would be a solid hire! 3. Archie Miller--a very close 2nd to Holtmann. I live in the Dayton area currently and know quite a few UD alums and fans. They have some serious fear that IU will come after Archie. mdn82 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Bill would have fit right in with the team a few years ago, if ya know what I mean. My only worry with Bill Walton as a coach is the sitting around in a circle singing kumbaya during timeouts. Other than that we should be good. They might not play out of control then...Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Napleshoosier and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

Hoosier_roots Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Have to be impressed with Mike Brey as well. Doesn't get the highest rated recruits but seems to get the "right" ones. His teams play well together. They had a total of 6 TO's tonight at Miami. 6!Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Alford Bailey and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

But much like the Greg Marshall argument he hasn't left there for a better opportunity. Why? I don't think he could recruit well enough here to make us happy.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Hoosier_roots and Alford Bailey 2 Quote

He's matured into a pretty good coach, I'd take him over Crean in a heartbeat. But he's still a bit down on my wish list. pumpfake, akhosrof, GloryDays and 1 other 4 Quote

Sadly that was my thought was well, it takes some sort of effort for preparation to be that much of an epic fail. It was so bad we had two chances to win: Syracuse gets lost on the way, or their players die laughing at our approach. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Let's go with the recruiting "star" rating for possible replacements. 5* - Stevens, Donovan4* - Holtmann, MillerWhere would you put the others? Quote

I would honestly place Holtmann as a low 5* based on potential. He is in that Zeller range, but with Vonleh's game. Boom or bust with a solid base.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER, 8bucks and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
